Horrible experience do not hire

We solicited multiple quotes for replacing cedar shingles on our colonial. Adam and Liberty not only gave us a fair quote, they were one of the few who actually took some time, listened to what we were looking for, and didn't try and upsells on additional material or services. Adam did a good job of keeping us informed when the job was to start and the team showed up on time. We had a small crew that was dedicated to our project and didn't have a revolving set of workers. The crew was very respectful and focused on delivering quality work and not simply getting the job done. They did a good job also cleaning up on a daily basis, being respectful of our house and the safety of others. Adam was always responsive along the way on timing, things that were discovered (as there always are), and making sure he was still connected to the project. We were extremely happy with the work that was done. It took longer than we initially expected but that had more to do with weather and other unforeseen issues. But I would have rather it taken longer and better quality, than rushing the job.

When my wife and I were looking for a contractor to replace our siding, Adam was quick to reply. The several other companies that wanted to give us a quote wanted us to schedule meetings to go through sales pitches and the meetings were booking several weeks out. Adam came by the next day and gave us a very competitive quote. He came about a week later and started the project. In two weeks he had finished and that included us adding a door part way through. The quality, price, timeliness and ability to make things simple have been unmatched in our experience with contractors. Highly recommend his services.

Adam's core building crew delivered quality work and excellent craftsmanship. The guys were easy to communicate with, detail driven, and very pleasant to work with. In spite of a few delays due to supply-chain issues, the job was seen through and we are quite pleased with the results.

Do not hire this person. He takes on jobs and sends unqualified individuals to work for less money in order to increase his own earnings. I hired Adam Mitchell to remodel my bathroom. He assured me that I didn't need a permit and immediately began working in my bathroom. After demolishing it, he sent workers to cover the walls with sheetrock instead of using blue board. Live wires were exposed on the wall, and there was even mold that he planned to conceal, but fortunately, we caught it in time. The holes in the walls that his staff created looked as if a two-year-old had made them. There were substantial gaps between the boards, and when we inquired about it, he dismissively said, "Don't worry; it'll all be covered with plaster." Furthermore, we discovered mold all over the insulation, and one of the supporting 4x4s was rotten and not even attached to the floor. Shockingly, he intended to close the wall without addressing any of these issues. Our electrician pointed out hanging wires and a live wire that Adam had no intention of addressing or informing us about; he simply wanted to close up the wall. We had given this man $10,000 in advance, and it became clear that he was trying to cut corners to keep costs down. Every time we attempted to discuss these concerns with him, he would become confrontational, raise his voice, and remind us of how busy he was. I had provided him with a link to the tiles I wanted for the floor, but he never placed the order, and we ended up with tiles we disliked. To make matters worse, he closed up the walls without having the inspector examine the bathroom, which was when we decided it was time to part ways with him. We are still dealing with the repercussions of his shoddy work. The paint he used in the bathroom must have been the wrong type, as it now has bubbles and is peeling. We now have to rectify that as well. This individual is highly unprofessional, and if you want a safe, well-executed project, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Frankly, he should not even have a construction license.

Adam the owner knows construction and is easy to work with. His employees are great to work with, are very skilled as well as respectful of both our home and ourselves. They delivered on what we wanted and proved to be flexible in that regard. One project turned into a second one and we would hire Liberty again.

Adam and crew were awesome and I canâ  t recommend them enough. Not only was Adam willing to take on a project that most contractors wouldnâ  t (a new basement pour that abuts a crawlspace as part of existing structure), but they offered a fair price and provided a great finished product. Additionally, Iâ  d be remiss in not mentioning that all of the crew were respectful and responsible people that I trusted wholeheartedly with being at my residence even if we werenâ  t home. Iâ  ve recommended Liberty to friends and family already, but figured I should spread the word more widely for other folks in and around the South Shoreâ ¦ as I know from experience it can be hard finding good (and trustworthy) contractors in todayâ  s climate. 5 stars across the board, without hesitation.

My experience with Adam Henry, the Contractor who owns Liberty Construction and Landscaping, has been and continues to be an epic disaster. He has dragged on what was supposed to be a three-month project for almost two years, and it is still not finished. He abandoned the job over and over again. He tried to repeatedly extort more money and force me to sign a new contract, even though he had enough funds to complete the job in full. When I refused to give more money, that is when the profanity and name-calling started. He would call me the most vile names and harass me continually via the phone. He would tell me that if I did not sign a new contract and agree to a new price, he would not come back on site. Mind you, he already had 3/4 of the agreed-upon price, which is a violation of his license, and he had not done any of the work. It got to a point where I would not answer his calls; I only communicated with him via text so that I could have a record of the exchanges. When I told him that I was going to file a complaint with the state, his response was that I should go ahead because there was not a thing the state could do; he would just file bankruptcy and open up his company under another name. He went on to say that if I opened my mouth, he would drag this project on indefinitely, I would be out all the money, and he would never finish it. He misappropriated funds that were given for this project, and when he could not start or finish my project, he repeatedly resorted to scare tactics, harassment, and extortion. I ended up filing a police report, and only under threat of arrest did he finally start the job. That was a year after the original agreed-upon start date. He dragged that on for another year. When you think it could not get any worse, he starts making adjustments to the design plans in an effort to cut costs and states that the plans are only a suggestion and that the architect is. I started contacting other people who had active building permits on the south shore, and everyone I contacted had a similar story. None had a project that lasted quite as long as mine, but the profanity, harassment, and not starting or completing jobs as expected appear to be how he runs his business. I cannot tell you not to use this company; I can only tell you that my experience has been and remains an ongoing nightmare.
