Project: Pump Out a Septic Tank

My husband was very pleased with the person that did our work. I was taken by surprise when quoted $350 flat rate to have the septic tank pumped out, to end up with a $1500 bill. That being said, it was not out of price range for the job that was required. Apparentlty, we needed a new pump. We just replaced the pump 5 years prior. There was no odor when the tank lid was raised, but there was water to the top and the wires to the pump were fried. My husband watched the entire procedure and verified that the man on the job knew what he was doing. And, for that reason, we have to be satisfied, albeit, not happy at the unexpected cost.
