"We hired Best Landscape & Construction to remove four large disintegrating timber planters and replace them with a combination of timber planters and a loose-stone wall. They did an excellent job. Company owner Abel Rivas responded promptly both to our request for an estimate and to several additions to the estimate, both before and during the project. On the second day, for example, we realized we had overlooked a small patio in the back of the yard that needed a rehab. Late in the day, just when his crew could have been packing up and leaving, they launched into that project, rebuilding the timber frame and re-laying the flagstone (cutting and fitting excess flagstones we happened to have, resulting in a much sturdier and more attractive raised patio). "Jose and his crew installed a~360 sq. ft. patio using Nicolock pavers and contrasting charcoal border pavers in 2.5 days. Outstanding job. When I asked them about using edging to prevent the pavers from shifting, I was told that he does not use edging. Instead the perimeter is first installed as retaining wall blocks set in mortar! After the perimeter is set, the site is then excavated, compacted, covered with weed suppressing fabric. The fabric is then covered with crushed stone layer, compacted and sand is then laid on top, compacted and leveled and properly graded. I chose the herringbone design shown in their logo and very happy with the choice. The border pavers are laid on top of the retaining wall blocks and are "glued" to them using mortar/liquid cement. After the border pavers had set, the crew applied polymer sand to fill in the gaps between pavers. This "grouting" was done twice. The final product is solid as a rock and not going anywhere! VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. Jose Espinal's company is insured and bonded, so hire them for your project and be worry free."
