"We recently were replacing a very old wall oven and built-in microwave (separate units, one above the other) with a brand new double oven. This required a major kitchen cabinet modification to accomplish a perfect custom fit for the new appliance. I started looking online for a contractor to do this. Derek was SO highly reviewed by so many people that we knew we would be lucky if he could do the job. And we got him! He came to the house first to understand & evaluate the project. He listened, asked good questions & carefully & precisely took measurements to plan for the appropriate cut-out of the existing cabinet. Using the specifications of the appliance manufacturer, Derek did a perfect job, allowing for the proper installation of the new ovens. He even built a nice new drawer for underneath, which we did not have before. And he cleaned up so well afterward that you couldn't tell he'd been there! Derek is a really nice man who is thoughtful, dependable & an incredibly skilled carpenter/craftsman. We definitely plan to hire him in the future for some bigger cabinet projects."

"We recently remodeled a 100 year-old Craftsman home. We initially discussed the project with Mose Troyer and were very impressed with his knowledge and advice. The project required replacing and replicating a considerable amount of the woodwork. Mose also modified the existing Shaker kitchen cabinets. Modifications included building new cabinets to match the existing ones. He also adjusted several cabinets while maintaining the original look of the cabinetry. Mose also completely built an entire wall of pantry cabinets in the Shaker style. He installed new baseboards and window trim. He rebuilt and repaired existing window trim in several other rooms. Mose integrated the repairs to the point that after painting no one could discern that the sill had been repaired. His work was flawless. In addition, he walled off a doorway and built a bookcase with enclosed shelves in the lower half. He installed 10 new doors with hardware in line with the original style of the home. He also installed two barn doors with hardware. He is conscientious and easy to work with. Without his creativity and craftsmanship the project would never have been as successful and we’re thrilled with the results. Without reservation, we highly recommend Mose for cabinetry/carpentry work."

"I am super pleased with the work, and the carpenter that was hear was very professional, cleaned up after himself, explained what he was doing, and all the projects turned out looking incredible.  I have used several service providers off of Angie's list, and this was the best quality I have ever received in terms of how things look after they were repaired.
My only issue was with the cost.  I tried to get Dave to give me a labor cost at time of the estimate and he told me he did not do it that way he based it off of the jobs I was having him do.  I provided the materials for the stairwell and the quarter round, and he told me most of the cost was labor that the two board for the deck and the lament for the cabinet were pretty inexpensive.  Maybe $100.  So that to me meant the other 1400 was for labor.  The inside carpenter spent 7 hours on the jobs he performed.  I was told the outside job was a 3 or so hour job, though I was not here when that was repaired.  That means 10 hours which works out to $140/hr. I think that is extremely high.  The electrician I had out a month ago charged $63.hour.  I was expecting in that range.  
Due to the excellent quality I would definitely hire again, but I would demand up from to know the labor costs and have a better break out on the estimate.  It is partly my fault for believing the jobs would take a full 2 days and not being more insistent on getting an actual quote for the labor.   I feel like I probably over paid by about 400 or 500...that would still be $90/hr.

"There was some good and bad with our experience. Here's how it all went. My wife met with a representative to discuss the price for scrapping and painting the house and garage and requested they send a crew who could do it by hand since we were concerned with overspray. A few weeks later a crew showed up to paint without any warning. To be far, the crew supervisor called the day before but I wasn't available and he didn't leave a message so I had no way of knowing they would be painting on the day they arrived. (this was an issue because we had yet to pick a color for the house - though we had narrowed it down to two options) Also, the crew was prepared to use sprayers to paint our house which was contrary to our request. I spoke to one of the owners and he assured me that there would be no overspray, I conceded and let them use the sprayers. When they were done and removed the plastic from over the windows, we did a walk through in which I found several areas needing touched up. They were happy to fix everything I noticed and we noted how positive their attitudes were during this. They really wanted us to have a good experience. We had them come back a few days later for some additional touch ups we had missed and to clean up paint chips (there was one side of the house which was messy). As far as the doors go, they did well but I had to go over the glass with my own razor blade to clean up the edging even after they had touched it up. Lastly, we have an awning which they took down to paint, but I had to put it back up. This wasn't a big deal but it would have been nice to know, especially if I was less able bodied (that said this may have been my responsibility, it was just never communicated to me). The verdict: they were fast and good. They were not fussy with the details. If you need work done fast, and wanted it to look good, and aren't as fussy as me (which I would guess 9 out of 10 people aren't). You would be very happy with the work they do. We have received countless complements about the house and how good the paint job is."
