"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me. Overall, they're good designs. However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning. I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question. I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done. If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"I called Doug for a quote and he responded quickly and in a professional manner. We set an appointment time and he arrived right on time, reviewed my job and quickly quoted me a fair price. He communicated the schedule clearly and his crews were both professional, hard working, and respectful of my home. Each day the crew reviewed their progress and were very detailed oriented. Both the pressure washing and the Pinestraw crews were perfectionists and made sure that everything was perfect before they left. You can clearly see that Doug has high expectations for his employees and I plan on using Doug's Pinestraw for both pressure washing and Pinestraw again in the future."

"The Chief Designer at Tranquil Journey Interiors has a unique why she approaches her craft. What stood out to me was the level of intentionality behind her design philosophy. She listens first, then translates what she hears into spaces that feel emotionally aligned with the homeowner rather than simply decorated. From what I have seen, she brings a rare blend of calm presence, technical understanding, and respect for the client?s vision. Anyone looking for a design partner who brings thoughtfulness and creative clarity should give serious consideration to working with her."

Start by defining your goals and budget. Collect photos of rooms you love, jot down must-have features, and list what isn’t working in your current space. Share these details—and your target budget—during the first meeting. The clearer you are, the quicker a designer can translate your vision into a workable plan and keep costs in check.
Yes, working with an interior designer can help you save money. Designers prevent costly missteps, secure trade discounts on furniture and finishes, and coordinate the project so you don’t pay twice for the same work. Their upfront fee often pays for itself in avoided change orders, tighter timelines, and materials purchased at below-retail pricing.
A full interior design project wraps up in two to three months, on average, while a decorating job takes four to eight weeks. Timelines stretch if you add structural changes, custom millwork, or specialty materials, and unexpected shipping or permit delays can tack on extra days. Talk with your designer about project milestones and build in a little wiggle room.
Interview at least three pros whose portfolios match your style. Review their credentials and ask for references. During a face-to-face or virtual meeting, discuss your goals, budget, and timeline, and make sure their communication style and fee structure feel comfortable. The right designer combines technical know-how with a creative approach that clicks with you.
