"Buddy was energetic to insure we had what we wanted in the design. I believe we went through 7-8 revisions. Since we did not have many ideas, Buddy was able to mix and match to what our final product was. This one was tough due to the dimensions of the lot but Buddy pulled it out...Thanks Buddy"

"Mr. Luis is so professional. My initial meeting with him he was dressed very professional and well groomed. He bought me his credentials as requested. He also had pictures of his work. He explained how the money was to be paid all explained to me in the contract. He met the deadline that he had set for the projects. His work is amazing, I am so happy with the work he done for me. I end up hiring him for other projects that I needed done. I can't say enough about Mr. Luis. He will start working for my sister. She was so impressed with his work. My home is simply beautiful. I have made a friend for life. I showed him what I needed done. I told him to have fun and to act as though my house was his home. I didn't choose anything all I did was pay for my materials and labor. I stayed out of his way. He would say are you ready for the reveal? Wow,wow, he done an awesome job I cried because I never thought I would see my home look so beautiful. He knows his craft. He is a hard worker. He works 6 days a week from 8am-6pm or later sometimes. Yes,yes, I would recommend him to all my family and friends. May God continue to bless him richly. Sincerely, Ms. Mechelle Jefferson"

FAQs for design and decorating projects in New Iberia, LA

Start by defining your goals and budget. Collect photos of rooms you love, jot down must-have features, and list what isn’t working in your current space. Share these details—and your target budget—during the first meeting. The clearer you are, the quicker a designer can translate your vision into a workable plan and keep costs in check.

Yes, working with an interior designer can help you save money. Designers prevent costly missteps, secure trade discounts on furniture and finishes, and coordinate the project so you don’t pay twice for the same work. Their upfront fee often pays for itself in avoided change orders, tighter timelines, and materials purchased at below-retail pricing.

A full interior design project wraps up in two to three months, on average, while a decorating job takes four to eight weeks. Timelines stretch if you add structural changes, custom millwork, or specialty materials, and unexpected shipping or permit delays can tack on extra days. Talk with your designer about project milestones and build in a little wiggle room.

Interview at least three pros whose portfolios match your style. Review their credentials and ask for references. During a face-to-face or virtual meeting, discuss your goals, budget, and timeline, and make sure their communication style and fee structure feel comfortable. The right designer combines technical know-how with a creative approach that clicks with you.
