"I was searching for an architect on Angie’s list we’re building a new house in Newington, Ct Roger Greenwald popped up in my search. Roger called me the next day and we booked an appointment for him to come out to the property. He asked us what we wanted and designed the house for exactly what we needed. My mother is an elderly woman, Roger very patient and answered all my mother‘s questions. He wanted to design the house to what stage we were in our life and what would work for us. Roger is extremely knowledgeable in what he does, he returned every phone call every email immediately or within 24 hours. The house he designed was just absolutely beautiful it was everything we wanted. The blueprints were ready within two weeks if not sooner. Roger Greenwald Architect is FIVE STAR I highly recommend him. Once my house is fully built I will come back and upload photos"

"We just had a 750 sqft in-law addition built by Daddona. They have a great crew to work with. Ron and Roman came to our house to discuss the project and then came back to review their proposal in detail. They were open to ideas and suggested valuable changes in the roof design before we started contraction. The best thing was the constant communication. Ron would text, e-mail and call, and more importantly answer all my texts, e-mails and call usually the same day if not immediately. The crew was there every day at 7:30am, with hammers and saws going at 7:31am. We jointly worked through numerous change orders without any issue. The overall construction and material used were also top notch. They are a great partner to have during construction."

Start by defining your goals and budget. Collect photos of rooms you love, jot down must-have features, and list what isn’t working in your current space. Share these details—and your target budget—during the first meeting. The clearer you are, the quicker a designer can translate your vision into a workable plan and keep costs in check.
Yes, working with an interior designer can help you save money. Designers prevent costly missteps, secure trade discounts on furniture and finishes, and coordinate the project so you don’t pay twice for the same work. Their upfront fee often pays for itself in avoided change orders, tighter timelines, and materials purchased at below-retail pricing.
A full interior design project wraps up in two to three months, on average, while a decorating job takes four to eight weeks. Timelines stretch if you add structural changes, custom millwork, or specialty materials, and unexpected shipping or permit delays can tack on extra days. Talk with your designer about project milestones and build in a little wiggle room.
Interview at least three pros whose portfolios match your style. Review their credentials and ask for references. During a face-to-face or virtual meeting, discuss your goals, budget, and timeline, and make sure their communication style and fee structure feel comfortable. The right designer combines technical know-how with a creative approach that clicks with you.
