We hired TM & KM Construction to knockdown a load bearing wall, remove a vestibule, replace the front door, and install new hardwood flooring in the living room, dining room, and hallway. The entire project took about three weeks and created a lot of dust and debris. However, they cleaned up the work site on a daily basis and left everything impeccably clean when they were done. During the work, they kept me informed on everything going on and were methodical and detailed focused. I was impressed by how they took the extra time to make sure everything was perfect. We had a lot of wood and trim work and they took the extra time to make complex cuts to make sure pieces fit together perfectly (versus jamming things together and covering it with caulk). "I put in two requests-for-quote on Tuesday 15 January. Within hours, Mr. Handyman of Richmond responded to my requests--and to this date the other two have not. The description by the telephone receptionist impressed me from the beginning: one company, not a contractor with subcontractors, recognizable to any homeowner and recognized in the industry. I accepted the quote, because frankly I was in a hurry to get the job done. The technician did the first job within hours. This included driving out to buy new doorknobs and deadbolts, plus a key-lockable and re-key-able front-door latch and deadbolt set. At the end of the job I had doorknobs that would stay on without coming off in my hand (as the originals did--twice), and four doors all on the same key. I also had a new deadbolt on the garage door and a front door that I could double lock. While he was here I asked him to see to a seam that had opened in some drywall, and remounting a toilet paper dispenser in a bathroom. The second job he finished in about five minutes; the first he agreed to come back for. On the second day he called his office to have them call me--this because I was too far away to hear him knock. So when I let him in, I suggested now would be a good time to install a wireless door chime and ringer set, and to repair a front-porch fixture I had never been able to unscrew. Note: I suggested these extra jobs; he did not push them on me. Except for my having to make two trips to a nearby hardware store to buy some batteries, he did all the work in record time. And because one of these jobs required letting some drywall mud dry before sanding, he was able to complete all these jobs at very little extra charge--because his company charges by the man-hour and materials, whatever the job happens to be. By using his time effectively and efficiently, I saved. The results are everything I could ask for, and getting all these jobs done is a special boon, particularly since I'm planning a long road trip. If I run across any other little thing that needs doing, I'll definitely call Mr. Handyman of Richmond first. I would recommend them without reservation to anyone having a little project."

"A friend of mine recommended Victors company for having the exterior of my house repainted. I call, he answers, came out for an estimate the next day. Started work within two weeks. We have some kind of masonite/wood siding which had some rot damage, a board with a hole and some with no paint. Some window, door and other trim had issues and needed to be replaced. I have to say I'm super impressed with the crews handyman skills, all the fixes were done that you couldn't tell that there ever was an issue. On the previous coat of paint you could see some coverage issues, no issues this time. We switched to a much lighter color, and I know everything got a good coat of paint! All the trim and door was repainted, shutters replaced, edges recaulked. It took the crew almost 5 days including prep and cleanup. All in all, I feel confident that I bought myself another 15 years, and hope Victor is still painting then so I can hire him again :)"
