"I was very impressed with Brian and his crew's attention to detail, repairing my wood fence. Within two hours, the 2 fallen panels were back in place just as good as before the derecho came through."

"Jake was great communicating with us in the process of planning and scheduling our fence installation! Evan delivered the materials - all top notch in quality - in a timely manner, and Adam knocked out the actual installation with great skill. The fence looks fantastic and will be wonderful to enclose our back yard for the sake of our family - including our three dogs!"

"Acreage fences was such a pleasure to work with. Carmen is always so sweet. Her customer service is AMAZING. Sheâ s a doll. I got a 4ft fence placed. And they took out the chainlink due to hoa. It looks beautiful. My kiddos are locked in and can enjoy our backyard."

"It was so nice to have someone to help with my shower and not worry about whether or not they were just some scam artist trying to take advantage. He matched the chip on the floor of my fiberglass shower perfectly. You cannot even tell it was damaged. I would highly recommend HomeAdvisor. com to anyone......"

"We recently had Marathon Services replace shake shingles on our roof with asphalt shingles. Paul Stoural, the owner, helped us out with the insurance company and proved to them that we had enough hail damage that the roof needed replacing. Paul kept us informed through the whole process and started the work when he promised. The crew was efficient and did their best to keep from damaging anything. They cleaned up every evening before they left and rolled the yard for stray nails. The roof looks great and we were satisfied with their work. We would recommend Marathon Services to anyone."

Financial responsibility depends on where the fence sits. If it’s clearly inside your lot, you foot the bill. When it’s right on the property line, state laws—California and Illinois are two examples—usually require both neighbors to split repair costs equally unless you agree otherwise. Check your local rules before scheduling work so you know exactly what you’re on the hook for.
Start by walking the fence line and noting every issue—loose boards, leaning posts, cracked panels. Next, gather at least three quotes from licensed contractors, comparing experience, warranties, and costs. Once you pick a pro, they’ll secure materials, reset posts, and fix or replace damaged sections. A thorough inspection and a qualified contractor keep the fence safe and extend its life.
Straightening a leaning fence costs an average of $200 to $400. A fencing pro will assess the damage, reset or replace the posts, and realign the panels so the fence stands upright again. Fixing the lean early on prevents further strain on framing and keeps the structure both sturdy and attractive.
