I hired the HVAC company that we utilize, and they reported it not coming from the HVAC unit and suggested that we have a roofing company come to look at it, which I did. However, they reported it was not coming from the roofing and could not determine where it was coming from. I then hired Mr. Handyman to take a look at it, which he did. "    IN the beginning we had several companies come in and give us bids and options on getting the cabinets repaired.  Two of the companies voiced that the cabinets were too severely damaged and needed to be completely striped and refinished.  with a cost that was between 4000 and 6000$.  I had heard from a friend about a process called restoration. with that process i was told that aged or damaged cabinets could be brought back to looking new for a fairly inexpensive cost.  Then asked both the businesses if they new anything about restoration both responded with thats not possible and doesn't work.      To say the least I was not convinced.   I then called my friend who told me about the restoration, she gave me a referral card for The Wood Doctor. Right from the start the wooddoctor crew made us feel comfortable about having them in our home. They seemed polite, professional, and trustworthy. I asked them about the restoration process. THey explained the process and told us the cost. In the short of it we preceded with them. THe results were awesome! "Terry couldn't complete the original design due to measurement issues but ended up making a drawer under the bench seat that I had him replace. A pretty simple project. When we first met to discuss it I thought we were on the same page. It took a couple months for him to get around to doing it. He spoke frequently of being very busy. By the time he came around to install it, I think he just wanted to get the job over with and collect his dough. The work is fine but nothing special. My husband now calls it our $1000. drawer and complains that there is less storage than previously. Also Terry said he would match the top piece of wood with stair treads and originally wondered if treads were cedar. He ended up just using pine that doesn't really match and is not as thick as original piece of wood. We had first discussed having "a big chunk of wood" for the top but it ended up being some attractive enough piece, but for $1000 it's nothing special. He did mill some trim to match the stuff on the house which was nice. Also, on the two days he installed the work he would say he just needed a few hours but it ended up being much longer. The 2nd day he was here I think he said it would only be an hour but it was more like 4. Anyway, if he had charged $500. I'd be good with it but for this much money I expected more.
