I'm a hands-on generalist who's been fixing, building, and finishing things for as long as I can remember. If it's broken, loose, crooked, or still in the box, I can handle it.\n\nThe best snapshot of what I do is a Ford Transit I converted from an empty cargo shell into a full campervan — framing, insulation, cabinetry, 12V electrical, plumbing, and trim. Everything had to be square, solid, and actually work, with no contractor to hand it off to.\n\nThe day-to-day work looks like this: furniture assembly, TV and shelf mounting, drywall patching and paint, light fixture and faucet swaps, doors that stick or won't latch, small carpentry, and general repairs around the house. I also do my own welding and automotive work, so odd metal fixes and mounting problems don't scare me off.\n\nI bring my own tools, show up when I say I will, and clean up after myself. "When no one locally even responded to my inquiries for a quote, Michelle got back to me the same day with a quote and description of how the repair would be done. It's a slight downside to have to ship one glove coast to coast for a minor repair on one finger. But the cost of shipping and the repair is much less than purchasing another $100 pair of gloves! The repair took a little longer than anticipated, but shipping time had to be factored in as well. Michelle was very prompt with communications during the process. Cost of service below did not include shipping which was about $16 round trip. The glove returned good as new...well as good as it's pair. The glove is two years old. But the seam was totally resewn and reinforced. Michelle stated she did not want to the issue to happen again. I hope it won't. The problem started with my fingers rubbing. Very happy with the service from Premier. I wish they had a shop in Maryland!"

My need for a new countertop became apparent when I had a plumber remove my kitchen sink to replace it with a new one.  This happened in September 2014.  Since the countertop needed to be replaced, I decided the time had come to also address issues with the kitchen cabinets.  I got several quotes.  As far as price goes, Saltwater Woodworks was somewhere in the middle, but Matt Sullivan listened carefully, made good suggestions about how to accomplish my objectives, and was the only one who would commit to getting my kitchen back in working condition by Thanksgiving.  And he delivered on this promise.

I am very happy with the work.  There were some problems encountered.  The finish on the new cabinet doors did not match the finish on the refinished cabinet boxes as well as expected; three of the new drawer fronts were damaged during installation and had to be replaced; there was a problem with the hinges on one cabinet door.  All of these problems were corrected to my complete satisfaction and without any objection. 

The entire project, with corrections, took longer than I anticipated.  But once the initial deadline of getting the kitchen up and running by Thanksgiving was met, I was willing to be patient about the corrections and did not press for speedier action.  Matt Sullivan was very good about communication, and I never worried that he would fail to follow through.
