"After reading the favorable reviews, I responded immediately to their half-price offer for 2 hours of work.  The offer allowed me to call as soon as payment had been made, so I called Albert right away.  I explained that I had a small upper kitchen cabinet removed and that I needed him to patch the wall and ceiling in that area (not large at all) and we agreed he would come to my house in 2 days at 11 AM and patch the area.  The following day I got a call from Albert, introducing himself and asking when I would like to schedule an appointment.  Huh??  I said we had done that the day before and he apologized for the error, but he had been deluged by the number of people who had responded to this offer.  He couldn't remember, however, what work I wanted done.  I told him again about the patching and he said he couldn't agree to do the work 'til after he came to my house and gave me an estimate.  Ok.  I asked if he would still come to my house at 11 AM the following morning.  He said he thought it was 9 AM, but then realized he again was confused with all the customers responding to the offer, checked his email and remembered that it supposed to be 11 AM.  So this morning he called at 11 AM and said he was sorry he missed our 9 AM appointment and could he come over now.  I mentioned again that our appointment was scheduled at 11 (not at 9), he again apologized for being confused and he could come over now.  Huh???  This was getting nuts.  However, he came over at 11:20 and apologized again and reminded me how overwhelmed he was with all the responses to his offer.  At this point, I was getting very frustrated.  I understand his overwhelm, but after so many apologies, I just wondered why he wasn't more organized and had found a more effective way to keep track of his customers.  But now that he's so overwhelmed, he wouldn't be able to do the work for 2 weeks (I had thought it would be done today).  I need the work done now, and quite frankly, I'm not sure he wouldn't be still confused in 2 weeks and reschedule the work date (maybe even more than once).  I called Angie's List and got a refund (which Albert had agreed to).  He's a lovely gentleman and probably does excellent work, but it's too risky for me to assume that now."
