"My spouse and I hired General Asphalt to pave our driveway with asphalt. The owner, Mr. Mullins, responded quickly to my phone call and came to meet me. He is a good listener and understood what we wanted -- and that's what he and his crew did. The job was done in a single day. Mr. Mullins didn't just supervise his crew -- he did some of the work himself. The driveway, which had been lined with white rocks of uneven size that made it VERY hard to walk on, looks great. We're very pleased. We give General Asphalt two thumbs up!"

"Handyman Carpentry came through for me and my family! Our door was kicked in and I needed to feel safe immediately. Mr. Kevin came through with a fast response, and great work. He kept in contact throughout the entire time! Reasonable and fair pricing. This was an emergency for me and Mr. Kevin and his squad came through. We will definitely be calling on him again for more carpentry and home improvement jobs! Thank you and I pray nothing but growth and success for you and your business!!"

"Good price, Good people. Very responsive and professional. I had been working with another company who was going to provide me with recycled asphalt. Double J was thankfully persistent and kept reaching out to me to see if they could provide me with a quote to provide "virgin"/hot mix/new pavement (I think they can provide recycled as well). After waiting for a week for a final quote and my road base work completed, I told Joseph to come on out and give me a quote. I wasn't very hopeful. Other hot mix quotes I had received were approximately 40% higher than the initial estimate for recycled asphalt. Alex showed up on time the following morning and I had an estimate before he left. While new paving was still more expensive than recycled, Double J's price was only about 20% higher and I thought that was worth paying more. Can't say it's always like this but I received a final written quote later that night, clarified a couple details with them and they were on site working the following business day. The Double J crew was very professional, efficient and courteous. They answered all my stupid questions and provided me with guidance on future suggested maintenance and their warrantee coverage. I am very happy and very relieved to finally have a road in place that isn't going to wash out every time we have some hard rain. Great job Double J!"

"The guys were great! Quality and Service were excellent. I would use them again BUT only if I obtained a written quote BEFORE having do the job. We walked the work area and received an estimate of $6500 and was told that he could do it for that price if we committed today and they started the next day. I jumped on this price. Son extended the parking area and asked for a final price several days before completing the job - he was told "it won't be much more than we quoted". we both thought maybe $1000 more but not $5,300 more after all we didn't double the length or width. Once the job was completed, the invoice was handed to me for $12,300. I almost crapped a brick considering that I had gone to the bank a week before and obtained $7,000 cash. I take part of the blame for not asking for a schematic with dimensions on it and a price but I also feel that part of the blame is on the business because either his estimation was way off or he intentionally ripped me off. I usually get more than one quote but couldn't resist this price - won't do that again!

"I hired this company after getting estimates from two others. The project was a residential driveway and parking areas totaling around 4,800 sq ft of surface. The drive had been paved with asphalt about 1998 and had never been seal coated, so it was in poor condition, but on solid ground. The driveway had only one section that was straight (about 100 feet), the rest was a circle and parking areas into the garage etc, which meant more time and work required to do the job. In my case, this was about 60% a repave or capping project rather than a new install. This meant there was going to be less material used. All of the estimates stated 2 inches would be laid down (before compaction) but in reality, the peaks of the capped areas have as little as 1/2 inch over them. The sides and low areas got the 2 inches. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I had marked the entire project area with string nailed the ground to make sure that the estimators and I were talking about the same things. Despite this, in all three cases there was some level of misunderstanding that occurred. The contractors were all looking to minimize the manual spreading work, and to stretch materials as much as possible (in reality this is true of just about any construction work). I felt that this company gave me a better assessment of the project in my terms, rather than theirs. They were willing to compromise and come closer to my design, rather than their desires. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . One of the other estimates had come in at $9,200 and the second was for $8,500, both were from companies that Home advisor and Angies List rated highly. A1 Paving's estimate (after I made some revisions to include drainage work we had discussed and the other contractors had not included) came in at $7,000. We initially scheduled the work a little over two weeks out, but they had an opening in their schedule and asked to start earlier. The work took two full days and included the addition of a load of base material and grading for one of the parking areas, so the final price was $7,250. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Being a retired remodeler, it is my habit to be present during any work done my others, to make sure that its being done the way I asked. Not everyone is happy with this 'supervision' but IMHO it's my money and it was agreed to do the job as I had asked. I have to say that A1 Paving was very understanding and patient with me, and whenever I asked for an 'adjustment' in the way or direction they were headed, they either did as I asked, or compromised with me. There were several drainage issues with this job, and the owner Larry Johnson and his #2 man worked with me to decide how to handle them. The results were tested the night the job was finished when we had a heavy rain, and all of our planning, and their work proved to work exactly as envisioned. . ."
