Comment: The asphalt driveway is 22 years old and is in good shape except for the typical cracks going across the drive. Each summer I fill the cracks with asphalt repair and it works great until the first freeze each year and then it starts to break apart and gets larger cracks over the years. It needs some Hot Tar patching to fix it where it will be less apt to crack again. The driveway leading up to the house from the road is around 10 feet across and the top going into the carport is 25 x 36. Just estimating from the cracks from top to bottom there would be around 245 feet of cracks to patch. These cracks are mostly less than 1/2 inch wide. What would be an estimated figure to patch these. Also, is there any type of guarantee that it would last through freezing temperatures? I have noticed that on Cheatham Ford Road in Hiddenite NC before they repaved it, tar was used to patch all the cracks across the road and it weather the winter without cracking so I believe it could possibly work.
