"We were originally scheduled for an early December job, but a slot opened and we were inserted two months earlier. Doug and his crew showed up early in the morning on the first day to drain the pool and begin tearing down the safety fence, removing accessories and making way for the machinery to gain access to the pool area. Once everything was cleared, a bobcat and a backhoe were used to remove the concrete and break up the marcite as necessary to meet code. All waste and concrete remnants were hauled away. Day two involved filling the pool after approval by the town inspector, then putting down topsoil and seeding the area. The entire job was completed in two days. Now, three weeks later, the seed is sprouting with an expectation that the lawn will establish well next spring. All in all, it seems that Pool Busters did a great job! The final proof will be seeing how much the pool area settles after the winter season. So far, so good after a couple of saturating rains."

"I brought the damaged lamp in for repair on August 8th. The base was very loose and off center. They repaired the lamp in less than 10 minutes. We discussed the repair of the existing shades for both lamps and it was determined that this would be very expensive. We looked at some similar oval shades in the shop, but only could find one that looked good on the one lamp that I had brought in. The shop told me it would take 4-6 weeks to order and receive the two shades. I decided to place the order and put down 50%. Before I left the shop he gave me two harps to accommodate the new shades when they arrived. On September 23rd I got a call that the shades were ready and picked them up.
They were very accommodating and friendly. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone who has a broken lamp. They also have a large array of antique and collectible lamps and chandeliers as well as shades. It was worth driving from Mundelein to Chicago to have this work done, but hated paying that miserable Cook County 10% sales tax.

"We had let our pool go, lots of leaves and debris in the pool. John was great! Came out the following day, performed all that was asked and then some. Trouble shooted our filter, made recommendations for future maintenance. I would definitely recommend them to perform all your pool service needs. Jason-Mokena"

"We had a very difficult project -- the existing concrete and fence had to replaced, along with the pool's concrete bottom, vinyl liner, and some of the plumbing. Midwest Aquatics was the only contractor of 4 or 5 who examined the job, that would do all of the work (concrete & pool work). The quality of workmanship was good, as long as my wife or I was staying on top of the work being done -- however, when we weren't able to watch over the details, MWA's project management and communications were poor. There were several cases where re-work had to be done, 2 serious issues that we're still stuck with, and contention over $$$ owed."

"It went great. The worker, Jim, came on time and worked very quickly and efficiently. He made sure the bi-fold, louvered doors fit the non-standard opening in the laundry area. The rate of $90 per hour (minimum one hour, charged by quarter hour after that) and $45 travel fee may seem a bit high but for the professionalism, quickness and concern of the workmanship, it was well worth it. I would definitely use them again. Great work!"

While it is possible to put a pool on a concrete slab, it’s not recommended. This can damage the liner of your pool and creates a rough floor that’s not pleasant. Professional installers use a sand base to create a level surface and ensure that your pool floor is comfortable.
Sand is a fine material that creates a smooth bottom for your pool. Other materials, such as dirt, could contain rocks that damage your pool liner.
Pool sand is also known as mason sand. The different types include concrete sand, yellow mason and white sand.
