Doors Repair
$550
Unfortunately, this was not the best experience. I only know the repairman as Drym (not sure of the spelling). He contacted me when I posted via your site that I was looking for door repair, mainly, the doorframe to ensure I do not have an active leak or to prevent one in the future. Despite booking online and getting a confirmation on the date and time, Drym said he didn't know I was booked for a future date so I went ahead and rescheduled with him. He arrived and I explained what I needed and any recommendations he could provide me. He seemed up-and-up at first because he said I didn't need to replace the door, so I believed he was a good guy. He initially quoted me between 450-550 depending on the cost of materials but that was my understanding that it was for the full treatment not just caulking and painting which I could have done myself. That did include cutting out a small piece of wood and replacing it where it was rotted. Either way, I thought it was high and assumed since we agreed on the minor repairs it would be cheaper. He asked me if I could buy the paint and the caulk to save time, which I did. When he completed the work, it looked like a five year old completed it. It was messy and poorly done, but it was done. When I asked him what the price would be, he said $550. I pushed back and told him that originally it was $450-550 and that was for more work. And I reminded him that I purchased the supplies. He said he had to buy the wood which he already had and would not have been expensive anyway. We went back and forth and he said, that's his price. And to top it all off, he used one of my paint brushes which he took with him along with the new caulk I purchased. I will never use this company again. Be warned.
