Michael Mullin Architect, LTD

Since 1992, Michael Mullin Architect, LTD has provided design, development consulting, and planning services, primarily for residential clients in the San Francisco Bay area. We accept projects with estimated construction budgets of $200,000 and above. A small and close-knit practice, we value a multidisciplinary approach to our lives, work, and art. Design statement by Architect Michael H. Mullin: We see ourselves as guides in a collaborative process. The client provides inspiration; we provide the expertise to make it real. In a sense, we are biographers of people and their homes. Evoking a shared story is the key to design that is truly authentic, that exudes the confidence and attractiveness of people who are comfortable in their own skins. We take full advantage of a building's relationship with its surroundings, its history, and its potential for the future. Our style is often a collage of architectural elements, unified with the best modern and premodern architectural principles. We create rooms that are generally useful, rather than highly specialized. This approach invites attributes such as natural lighting, comfortable circulation, and details based on solutions to everyday problems rather than ornamentation.
