We hired the contractor to replace the old microwave with a range hood. The contractor came to finish the replacement in about 40 minutes. During the process, I checked with him about the missing exhaust connector issue. He said it was not needed. We paid him $140 in cash. However, after I reviewed the manual and consulted with other people, I noticed the install will post a fire hazard without connector. Even worse, the hood was installed unevenly, so that the right side cabinet can not be opened. I sent him multiple messages last a couple of days and received no response. To me, the work the contractor did was not qualified as a professional. I demand at least 50% refund. I will have to hire another contractor to redo the project.

I would recommend him to anyone wanting a project completed in timely manner.

Brandon Scott did the best possible under difficult circumstances with the problematic GE 30 Under the Cabinet Hood-JVX5300SJSS. This was a ductless installation. I was impressed with his strength, stamina, tenacity, and cleverness. He needed to do careful and complex electrical work on two occasions. And he needed to put in a very long screw on a nearly 45 degree angle to attach the left side of the hood onto a thin part of the cabinet above it. I hope it holds over time.
