I was extremely happy with Delnico Electric. They were professional nice guys who stood by their estimate. They went right to work, identified the problem, solved the problem and I paid them for a job well done. I will definitely will hire them again, given my boyfriend and family has an upholstery business in N. Wilmington, and my daughter is moving back east from Seattle with her husband to buy a home in Garnet Valley or Glen Mills. I already discussed the future work with Al. His helper, Will was knowledgeable and Al was friendly as can be. Thanks guys for a job well done. I was trying to see how to submit the review on Angie's List yesterday, but couldn't figure it out. Thanks for sending me the link guys. Tata. Stay well. Demi Wines

There were scheduling problems but they're mostly on my side. They had to run much more line. We had to pay the extra of $200 - $300. They were timely. They told us upfront that the cost was going to be higher before they went through the process. They got it done very quickly. The power wasn't off for very long at all. When they said they're going to be here, they're here.

They arrived on time and immediately went to work perfoming the job I needed done. They added new electrical outlets and replaced some outdated outdoor lighting. In addition, they corrected a problem with how the switches were setup in my kitchen. They also pointed out future upgrades that needed addressing. I would definitely use this company and would recommend them to my friends. They did an excellent job and I was very statisfied with their work ethics.
Scheduling was fine. They came out and were here for about fifteen minutes. They said they would get back in touch with us, but we have not heard back from them as they never contacted me directly.

To give a bit of perspective we had this work done as we were selling our house and our buyers wanted the upgrade or they would not go through with the purchase of the home. This was an expense we did not plan on for work we felt was unnecessary after consulting an electrician (or we would have had it done while we were living there).
Delnico got back to me right away and scheduled us for the upgrade within a week. They could have come even sooner but my schedule could not accommodate that. Their electrical work was spot on and beautifully done. The inspector was very impressed with what he found upon removing the cover to the electrical panel as well as the work on the outside of the house.
That said, when they opened up the drywall to install the larger electrical panel they took out too much drywall. (The panel is located in a downstairs bedroom.) At the end of the job I was left with two large holes in the drywall above and below the panel that I had to repair. I rated the quality of their work based solely on their electrical work. That is definitely 5 stars. The non-electrical details... the pits. They left a BIG mess in the room they were working in (lots of crumbled drywall and dust on the floor and nearby furniture) and the holes in the wall that I needed to repair. If your job is in the basement or another unfinished section of your home I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Delnico. If however your work is in your living space... I might pick someone else if I didn't want to do clean up and wall repair.
Installer was on time and ready to work. We reviewed what I needed and he began installing. Took a few hours to do and was put in as I had expected.
Would definitely use again.
Price was very reasonable compared to other quotes received.
This experience was a DISASTER! From the time Alan took the light fixture with him until it was finally re-installed took 6 weeks and constant phone calls to see why it was taking so long. I got excuse after excuse, including that he was on vacation, TWICE, with promises that he would call me "tomorrow" or when he got "off the job" he was on to set up a time. Of course, the phone call never came from him, so that set off more phone calls from me to find out why I was not getting my fixture back. I started phone calling around August 13 & by the beginning of September I started thinking maybe he broke the fixture & was just playing the coward about it. When I spoke to him again on September 9, I told him what I thought. He promised to come out on September12 between 8-11:00. Of course, no one showed up by 11:00, so I called the office & I was told someone would be there soon. At 11:30, Steven, a technician for Delnico, came out to install my light. He was courteous & quickly completed the job, but then gave me an invoice for $145!!!! I was told it was for this service call & the cost of the transformer.! I was not going to pay for this service call since it was supposed to be included in the Angie's List coupon. Alan, the owner, had "forgotten" that part, but said I had to pay for the transformer. He said he would give me a discount of $60 for a balance of $85 balance! Now, I'm not an electrician, but even I know a small transformer does not cost that much & I told him so. Then he changed the invoice to $55! I was so fed up with this whole ordeal. I just paid the $55 & knew I would NEVER USE THIS VENDOR AGAIN!!!
Response from Delnico Total Home
"I strongly disagree with this review. There is no mention of the work that I did for you prior to the last minute light fixture installation you requested. As I remember, you were so happy with my work, that you asked me to look at a light fixture that was a family heirloom. I explained to you that it may take some time to find the parts needed to fix it. I used much of my of my personal time to locate the parts at various suppliers. After finally finding a supplier, I had to order the parts. As they were on back-order, it did take more time then expected to receive them. I made you aware of the situation on many occasions, and apologized for the delays...and yes I went on vacation twice while waiting for the parts to come in. I am unclear on why that was an issue. Finally, you also forgot to mention that I gave you a HUGE discount on the price of labor due to all the inconveniences although I was not at fault. I installed the fixture and you refused to pay me for any labor and only gave me a partial payment for parts. Ultimately, I am the one who lost time, energy and money on this job. My efforts to go way beyond my scope of duty to fix a family heirloom was not only unappreciated, but publicly criticized."

The work was done quickly, correctly and professionally. I dealt mainly with Jason and, even though this was a complex and multi day project, and he was very good about calling and letting me know what and when things would be done.
Steve and alex worked for 4 hrs and installed 4 fans including one with remote. Both were corteous and professional. Kept the work area neat. Installations are working fine. I will definitely recommend them to others.

It took quite a while to get the installation completed. I purchased the job on 3/5/14 and got the final electrical inspection on 8/5/14. It required a number of emails and phone calls to get the work done. A representative came out to look at the job in the middle of APril and told me it would cost another $650 to do the installation which i agreed to. The electrician who came out and did the work I was very pleased with. The wrok didnt get under way until the beginning of July. It took a full day and there were a couple of problems that were uncovered that required a return visit and an additional cost of $600 which i agreed to. Delnico was able to get their electrical inspector to come out and sign off on the job on 8/5 as noted above.
A few things that should have been included in the Angie's list deal. The new cold water ground as not installed. The existing one was used that is no longer in code, as it is approximately 25 feet from the cold water entrance instead of 5 feet as required.. There was not a Panel GFCI outlet installed as part of the offer, nor was a surge protector installed that was to be included in the job as a bonus.
I was so happy to get the panel finally installed and inspected that I will source someone to get the cold water ground installed and a surge protector added at a another date.
