I made an appointment for them to come out on 11/12/19 to take a look at my chimney, which was detiriorating badly from the inside. I had another company come out prior but wasn't satisfied with their estimation. I was told straight up that what I needed to have done would be a big job because of the length of time the problem had been occurring and any possible unknown factors that could arise during the job completion (all of which I researched for myself as a precaution). Long story short, I agree to do the work at a VERY reasonable price (based on the average price cost to do the job) and set up an appointment for 11/20/19 to run from 9am until 6pm. These guys were on time and did an amazing job. Like, I am really, REALLY, REALLY impressed. Having been jerked around and screwed over by so many contractors; it's refreshing to meet some that say what they mean, mean what they say and do what they say they're going to do....and are honest!

Excellent! Wonderful guys came just to sweep the chimney and after they examined it told us that the chimney was not up to code. They put in a new lining and cap and sis the correct attachment to the heater.

On December 6, 2018, John and Ben of DnG arrived to inspect the leaking chimney was missing a chimney cap which was the source of the leak. That afternoon, I was told they sealed over the open flues with mortar and then installed the chimney cap. I paid $1,932.00. This action did stop 97% of the leak. I called to schedule a return visit to fix the remaining leak. After several no-shows, I was promised that John would arrive on December 22, 2018, while I was away on vacation over the Christmas holidays. Before their arrival, John was convinced that any additional leaking was coming from the flashing. I requested that he replace the copper flashing to which he agreed. I left a check, amount yet to be determined, that was to be filled out given to them by our dog walker once the work was complete. However, while I was on vacation, he texted to say that he could save me money and also provide a 10yr warranty if he sealed the chimney flashing with tar, to which I agreed. Later that day, John texted to ask that I call. He explained that he had not only completed the work but had also inspected and performed work on our two other chimneys. Work that was never discussed or authorized. I later found out from our dog walker that he charged $3,200.00. This amount a) was higher than installation of real copper flashing, b) included work not authorized, and c) I later discovered that he did not complete all of the work for which he charged. The leak continued.... I called and texted many times attempting to get them back out to complete the work for which I was charged, not completed and some of which not authorized.. I am still waiting and it is March 14, 2019. On February 18, 2019, hired Built2Last to install new copper flashing as I had no confidence in the flashing work performed by John and DnG. On March 9, 2019, I hired Alined Chimeny to look into the leak. What they found was that John's original work was shoddy. When he applied the mortar prior to installing the chimney cap, he left several gaps/holes which allowed water to trickle into the flues and down the chimney. Dominick of Alined Chimney, sealed over the holes and reattached the chimney cap.. We received over an inch of ran that evening - no leak! If John had properly applied the mortar and installed the chimney cap on December 6, 2018, I would not have had months of headaches and been in the hole for thousands of extra dollars for work that was not requested and not performed. FYI, I have printouts of all of our texts to verify my statements. I wish there was a way I could upload the pdf files of our text strings.

Overpriced&incomplete job. Liner installed on 10-13-18. Planned on turning heat on week ending 11-11-18. My furnace man informs me that a Tee cap should have been installed to connect to the chimney liner to prevent condensation on my furnace. It was'nt, the same old cap out back on&there are rocks in it. Called DNG on 11-09-18 were supposed to send a new guy out because Dominck, who installed the liner was let go because of too many calls like mine. We're supposed to come out 11-10-18 but never showed. Called office, spoke to owner David who said he would call me back to get someone to my house. David never called me back, still waiting....

This is a long review of my experience with this company. If you don’t want to read all of it just simply know; If you value your time and money do not contact this company, they are dishonest and do bad work. If you want to know more details keep reading. I hired the them to repair my chimney as it was leaking. After spending a lot of time and money, the problem is still not resolved. Here is an overview of what I had to endure during the last month or so. 1. No show on the first appointment. I took the day off to be there it was very important to me that the leak is going to be fixed ASAP as we had a lot of rainy days. Anyhow, no one showed up no one picked up the phone. I called the next day to ask what happened and was told that the technician called me, but I did not pick up and that I was not home when he came. Made up excuse! 2. Finally, a week later some one came and told us we must fix multiple things and it would cost $5000. They are a 5-star company and they have everything custom made. However, he can repair some of the damage and install a new flashing with 10-year warranty for $600. Since I really wanted the problem fixed I agreed. They also told me at least 10 times to write them a good review and to make sure I tip the guy who installed the flashing really well since he did an amazing job. 3. A couple of days later it rained, and it was still leaking. I called them and was told that there is no warranty on the flashing. Saying “only because a technician writes it on the receipt it does not make it true”. However, they want to help me and will call me back after talking to the technician to figure out the details. No one ever called back. 4. I finally called again a couple of days later asking what the status is and they gave me a new appointment. 5. No show again and I had taken the day off, again. Called they apologized they double booked, new appointment. 6. I took yet another day off. I saw the technician driving into the drive way. I took my dog upstairs, so he wouldn’t bother the technician. I come back, and the truck drove off. I call the office to ask what happened and I was told that the technician resealed the flashing but there is some problem with the neighbors’ part of the chimney that is causing the leak, but he can’t do any work on it without the neighbors being present. I asked the office why he didn’t tell me since the neighbors are home. I also told them it is strange that he could do all the work and assess the problem and never step out of the truck. I was promised that the manager would call me back the same day. No one called.

Did not go well. Now I have to hire a real chimney contractor to repair thier work so now I’m paying twice. They brought my chimney down below my roof and just over my window, so the gases leaving the chimney goes in to my window. Chimney is at an illegal height. Chimney liner hanging out....... They stole and lied to me. I call their office to speak to a manager but the secretary would not put one on the phone. And they left my place dirty, work glove everywhere for me to clean up thier mess. Very disappointed and outraged with them. I gave them chance to fix it before I gave this review, nothing. I have a lot more pic but I’m done. (STAY AWAY) Ps. They did finally pay for the stuff stolen a month later and phone calls.

I requested service for Chimney repair on Thumbtack. A representative from DNG reached back out to me relatively quickly. We booked the appointment, nothing wrong there. They gave me a 4 hour appointment window, a bit long but not bad considering I am familiar with the nature of contractors. They call me on the day and tell me that the technician who was scheduled to come out won't make it so they're sending someone else. I also understand the nature of these jobs so was totally cool with that. The main issue here is the completely shoddy and subpar work that was done at my house. I pointed out exactly what was wrong and then stepped back and let them figure it out because they're the pros and should know how to do their jobs. I explained that water was getting in and so if they could please take a look at the cap and fix accordingly. He gave me the spiel that he could fix it today for x amount of money but if I waited the price would go up dramatically. I had the time and bit for the work being done that day. They stayed for 3 hours, did what looks like a lousy patchwork job, and now here I am with water flooding into my house from the chimney on the first day of serious rainfall since the work was finished. He also upsold me by $200 on vent caps for my heater exhaust that he needed to special order, and has yet to come back and install them. If you're in need of any chimney work, I'd definitely advise you look elsewhere.

This work was advertised for $99, Since we have a wood fire place, the work was quoted for $219. Appointment was made between 8-10am, but person showed up on 10.30am. Initially the person was convincing me that the chimney is 50 years old and it’s time to be rebuilt and later he explained he can put a liner with a quick quote of $4000. Also he replaced one of the chimney caps for $175. In short $99 ended up paying $400(extra 3% if you pay by check or credit card), and a quote of $4000. I only wanted to clean the chimney. “Very expensive!”

I had them come do an inspection in my house and cleaning. They quoted me 99 dollars to honor the groupon deal. They knew I needed the inspection for a township inspection. I shouldn't have told them I was in a rush. I trusted the lady on the phone, her name is Debbie. She seemed very nice and I was desperate to get the inspection done. Once the technician was over, my realtor was there to receive him. He called me to tell me everything looked good with the chimney BUT...I needed to have two services done, plus remove an old antenna that wasn't in use. First the cement crown needed to be repaired. Second they needed to treat the chimney with TSR. He quoted me almost 1000 dollars for this. Then said he would give me a discount on the antenna removal that they normally charge 100 dollars! He would give me that for "free". I questioned that amount and he said "well, feel free to shop around but you need this inspection certificate for the township so I'd do it". Yes, I was desperate as my home sale was pending that. I went for it. 824,00. I knew something was fishy so the next day I called other companies referred by the township and surprise surprise: quoted half the price and who charges to remove an old antenna?? Nothing there was "free". He completely ripped me off. The next day I got my buyer's inspection report which included the chimney. He had performed it two days before these scammers went to my house. Guess what? Chimney was in great condition. No issues found. Of course it wasn't the level 2 inspection, but I'm pretty sure one doesn't need deep cameras to see a broken crown. Anyway. I called them to question. Debbie, the nice lady whom I so naively trusted, became a monster! Defensive, dismissive. Hung up the phone on me after saying she would talk to the owner. I told her I needed an explanation by the end of the day and she said "well, you should have questioned the price before you agreed to it". And of course, neither her nor the owner ever called me back about it. I reported them to groupon, since they use them only to get people to call, then tell you not to buy it and that they would honor their price. What I did not tell Debbie, however, is that she had spoken with me a month prior and she had quoted me 199 dollars for the same service that she then charged 99! I'm telling you. SCAMMERS. STAY AWAY.

Excellent. Two men came to my home at appointment time. Cleaned chimney, took pictures inside my chimney proving some bricks missing. Agreed on price, liner installed. Very neat repair and small cement work around chimney flute very neat. All dirt cleaned up. Everything explained to me in detail. Bonus: had new roof prior to this job and was told roof in good condition. Needless to say had to trust roofer; no way to check that work.

My entire experience with DNG was wonderful! We had no heat at all from Friday evening. We called DNG Saturday morning, Stanley was wonderful on the phone. He called me back as promised with a time frame in which our same-day appointment was scheduled. I was elated! Frank and Joey arrived right on time. Did their inspection, told us the issues we had and how they were going to go about fixing. Came back in with a whole diagram, because this was foreign language to my wife and I. These guys really took the extra time with us and went above and beyond. They gave us an awesome price for the work stated above and they had our heat back on within an hour and a half. I would totally recommend DNG Complete Home and Improvement to anyone that needs this type of work done. We have a lifetime warranty for the work as well.

Not a great first impression. The 2 men showed up and were friendly, however, the one gentleman had body odor and greasy, dirty hands upon arrival. And this was an early morning appointment. His hands were so dirty, that they left grease fingerprint stains on my wall and furniture. To show up to a client's home like that is not professional or courteous. To stain their wall and furniture is worse. I would not recommend them having this negative experience.

"We are a mobile service. Any job before you was an emergency which our technicians put extensive time and work into for example a Shut down by the town or a carbon monoxide leak. In which situations like this our technicians can not leave the site and are accompanied by the fire department until it has been contained and corrected. We apologize for the appearance on said day but these technicians work very hard a long side firemen to keep you the citizen and homeowner safe"

Not well. I thought he exaggerated the price. He pressured us to do it NOW to get his price. He tried to charge me again for what I had already paid for through Angie list. All he was suppose to do is clean one chimney for which I paid $179.00. Instead he pointed out quite a few problems which some were real others may have been made up. He wanted $3,000.00 plus dollars to correct said problems but we had to commit right then and there. I think he uses Angie list as a ruse to invent problems and pressure customers into having him do extra works. Although we're senior citizens in our sixties he treated us as old and unlettered.

Inspection will reveal current condition of chimney which might lead to certain type of recommendations to bring chimney to operational standards. I had looked extensively for a company in the area to give us a fair price & to get the job done. Finally I decided to look up companies on Angie's List. I found DNG & looked up their credentials. I called them & was surprised at the punctuality & professionalism of the team. Josh came in, assessed the job, showed us pictures of the problem. We saw from the pictures that our chimney had begun to collapse & a rock blockage had partially closed the chimney. We could have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, so we are so grateful for their assessment & great work!

Installation went very well. We even received a free estimate on some work that needed to be done on our chimney and the amount that we paid for the chimney cap installation was deducted from the total cost of this estimate for these future repairs. We were very pleased with this company and will definitely be using them again in the near future.
