Dishonorable to his core. Besides his subpar work, he begged for a wire transfer when he claimed he couldnt cash the check I wrote him because it had the wrong name on it. After I wired him the money, he cashed the check. I also asked for an insurance certificate, doubt he has any. I filed a police report for theft. I have a $150,000 judgment against him since in NJ unlicensed contractors can be sued for treble damages. He rents his house, leases his cars, he doesnt have a single asset to his name. He IS unprofessional but I wouldnt expect any less from a grunt.

life Liberty Builders deserves a zero overall rating, but that was not available. Jim, the owner is very unprofessional. He has yelled at me in telephone conversations twice when I accused him accurately of lying. He delayed applying for the permits with our township for over a month with a flimsy excuse that was not true. In fact, I had to keep reminding him to apply. He has selected inferior materials to use and refuses to even provide me his insurance certificate. Every time I do not agree with him, he rants and raves and I have email from him that proves that. He really stresses me out and as other reviews have pointed out, he is not one to be trusted in delivering a good product.

We hired Jim a year ago and we still do not have a furnace, stairs, trim, counters, sick, doors, flooring, unfinished electrical. He left trash including drywall, metal piping, and insulation for us to discard. Sloppy painting. Outlets clogged with spackle. He charged us for plans which we had to make ourselves! In a year, he has been to our house four times. Two of those four were to pick up checks. Yes we were stupid and paid him in full. He wont finish, havent had anyone here in five months, havent had running water in our kitchen for a year. We wash dishes in the tub! He said if our lawyer gets involved, he can just restart another comoany. Do not hire this scammer!

I can’t delete my 1 star review but Jim of Life Liberty builders and I worked this out, he did the work he was paid to do and will be finishing the job. He’s a honest guy I will use in the future.

Took money, didn’t do work. They’re crooks

"[Member Name Removed]. Are you crazy? We did everything we were supposed to do , then covid happened. After covid [Member Name Removed] , your partner, contacted me that he wanted to settle with me and we made an agreement, he and you were breaching contract, and i let you our of it. Befire covid ,We needed to get either the egress built, or bring the project to l&I to get aproval without it. We 1. Did all demo 2. Framed everything up inside 3. Did plumbing rough in 4. Did hvac rough. 5. Did electric rough in. Then they added that we needed an egress. It took you guys 3 months to decide what to do, of which you never did! After covid I assume you guys lost your loan, and you were asking me for money. The items that you listed "not done" no kidding they were next to do but we needed to do the egress you didn't ever decide on, [Member Name Removed] called me said he didn't want me to finish. (Obviously you guys lost the loan at this point) Was there any issues with the work we did? Was it my decision to stop working or did the city not let us proceed? Did you guys [Member Name Removed] ask me to not continue because of financial issues? Or did I just stop working? Then after [Member Name Removed] that, I made an agreement with your parenthetical and walked away at your request I was happy to finish the job and it is incredibly unjust and wrong for you to slander me here and try to harm my company'[Member Information Removed] good name. Is any of what i said untrue? Factually? How can you say I didn't do work as if I walked away.? I'd appreciate a reply and please maybe be honest."
