"Excellent customer relations skills. This is a company that you don't have to chase for their business. John always returns your calls and provides all necessary feedback related to the work such as prompt estimate, start/stop times, listens to the concerns of the customer and takes appropriate action among many others. The work crew is highly skilled for such dangerous work. My job entailed the removal of 20 large hardwoods, stump grinding, chip spreading and trimming of two apple trees. Two grapple loads of hardwood were removed from the property along with moving the bucket truck and 5 chipper loads through the property. Extra care was provided to protect my pavement from the large loads by spreading plywood to prevent cracking the edges."

"John responded quickly to my request for a quote. We just purchased a home in East Waterboro and looked online for a spring clean up and mowing. John came out and walked the property with me. He went over all the details. We discussed a full clean up. Including: blowing back leaves, edging, weeding, trimming shrubbery, some small tree limbs and mulching the flower gardens. John did a great job! We’ve hired him for the season."

"Kimball and Sons were abundantly professional. Mike was responsive in his communications and flexible when I requested additional trees be taken down. The team that removed the trees were pros! They were able to take down dozens of large trees surrounding our house. I was impressed with the care they took of our property while they were here. I would certainly recommend Kimball and Sons to anyone looking to have trees removed."

"Very professional and courteous until I contacted them about problems with the work. I was supposed to have 2-1/2 of compacted asphalt when complete. Less that a year later I have weeds popping up through the pavement and its clear the pavement was less than an inch thick."

"I have a 28x72 ft rood with theee peaks in the front and this crew came at 730 and left at seven thirty with the complete removal of old roofing and new roofi g complete with roof ridges and ice and water shield, new boots for vent pipes and new edging. The grounds were clean. The crew was fantastic. I am so satisfied with the job, people that have come over tell me it's a great job, edging is all even and tight to the end of the roof. I had three quotes amd these people were the lowest of any. I would highly recommend this company and crew for any roofing needs."

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Acton, ME

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
