"I've read reviews from other people, and it's interesting how people can have different experiences. I had a 26X65 concrete slab put in, and culvert put in along with some grading done. Kevin came when he said he would and did what he said he would do. I guess my experience overall was one that hit a lot of different angles. The work done was great, but there were some misunderstandings that was of no fault of Kevin's, but I made them his. One of which was no fault of mine, either, but the company led me down the wrong path painting the picture that what Kevin was supposed to do didn't. As I was out of town, I called him up and voiced my displeasure. He responded very professionally and explained the situation to make me understand that he did do what was asked of him. A couple other times, a text went awry and something else that I have since forgotten. But each time he handled himself professionally and had no attitude despite being falsely accused. I'm sorry to hear of other people's situation, but I can only speak for myself and what I experienced. The other thing that impressed me was Kevin was willing to haul his equipment, and did, from a few hours away to regrade an area that this company said they couldn't get across, which was the companies miscommunication. The other thing is response time. There was one time it took a while for him to respond, but living in a rural area, and given that if you're in the middle of a job, I can't expect someone to always be available. One time we even lost connection due to how things are. Just something to keep in mind if you live in an area with ONE bar : /"

"The techs that came to do the job - Matt and Ryan - were great  They were on-time, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable.  They explained the process to me, and then took extreme care in leveling an area that abutted the foundation, a door, and a large, heavy double gate.  They went the extra mile by adjusting the gate latch so that it would close easily after the concrete was raised.  They also leveled a section of concrete on the walk to my porch - looks brand new.  They cleaned up everything when they were finished.  Everything looks great, the concrete is level with the door jamb again, my gate works better than it did before the work, and they couldn't have been nicer.  <br> <br>NOTE:  Because my job was considered small for this company, Steve Shipley added leveling the section of walk because he said that the area around the door was not a big enough job for their minimum cost!  I really appreciate his honesty and that he told me this and added an additional job.  Thanks, A-1 Concrete! <br> <br>"

"Andy from Rocky Fork came out promptly to bid on the job. (He was actually $200 higher in price than the other person we got an estimate from, but we decided to use him because my husband liked him so much after talking with him. He was very laid back, non pushy, helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed interested in wanting this project to turn out well for us. The other person that we didn't use was rather arrogant and also did not offer to get the gravel for us, so we choose Rocky Fork concrete for the job. I know we made the right call on this choice.) He came out several times to complete the work.. first carefully and neatly placing the gravel down for us, then excavating, and finally the concrete pour. He cleaned up everything, gave us advice on how to finish our retaining wall, and overall did a great job on everything from laying the drain tile, prepping the area, and pouring the concrete pad. He even came out the next day to hand cut the control joint in (which probably takes a little longer, but is a cleaner cut and less likely to fill with dirt and grow weeds in the crack.) Andy definitely did not rush this job. Everything turned out great, and we will have him return to do all further concrete work at our home. He asks for 1/2 of the payment before starting the job and 1/2 at the end, which we did not have any issue with. We would really like to give Rocky Fork Concrete an A+ recommendation for a great job! <br />"

"CDM did a fantastic job with 2 major bathroom remodels. From removing existing vanities, flooring and fixtures to laying new tile and sub-flooring, installing new plumbing, vanities and lighting, installing new tile and back splashes to both showers and removing an old walk-in tub, replacing it with a new tub and fixtures, I couldn't have been more pleased with the expert workmanship they provided. They were meticulous and professional. I would recommend the professionals at CDM without hesitation."

"It's beautiful. We have a patio, firepit and retaining wall. They were awesome to work with and would recommend to all. They really treat people the way they would treat family. Don't be surprised if you ask them to bid a project, with other contractors bidding as well, and Authentic Stone is the only one to reply. That's your first sign. Don't be surprised if you receive other bids and AS comes in the lowest. That should be your final sign. No subs, they do the work themselves, great communication and job was done in 5 days. We look forward to having them back for more jobs."

"I chose this company because they'd done a neighbors' concrete and they were pleased with the experience and the sealant that was used doesn't change the appearance like most do. <br />   When I first contacted them they were booked ahead with big jobs. They could get to me by mid-June, but would fit my job in earlier if possible. They did, several weeks earlier. <br />   They cleaned my driveway, personal walk and patio, public sidewalk, and curb. Special care was given to the highly dirty/mildewed areas. I pointed out some decorative border stones and a repaired area that would be fragile and he took care to not damage those (or anything else).  <br />   They discussed whether the water-based or solvent-based sealant would be better given the age of my concrete (and the tendency to mildew). The solvent-based was used with special attention to those areas prone to mildew. <br />   They kept me well-informed re: what was being done and what I can expect going forward. <br />   I'm LOVING the clean look and also seeing water just bead up on top!! <br />   I didn't give an 'A' re: price, but it may have been competitive re: what I had done and the products/tools used. I hadn't gotten any other prices since I knew I wanted them to do it."

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Albany, KY

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
