I was not the original owner that added the piers... they found the receipt that they did do the work many years ago for a previous owner of my home. "In the May 2013 time frame they came out to fix water leaks around a couple of windows and replace damaged shutters. I was very pleased with the work performed, the professionalism, and the technical knowledge shown. Then several months later when several more leaks appeared in different areas of the house, I was glad I had someone to call, with whom I had a great experience with. They came out, took a look, and said I would be put on the "list". Weeks turned into months and then months turned into over a year. I called repeatedly and was told that I was still on the "list" and it wouldn't take long, they just needed to find that "one" day. I was always the one initiating the calling. To me it appeared that more lucrative jobs were taking precedence. I liked the work they did so much the first time I was willing to hang in there for over a year, but I finally gave up. I've rated them high for the work initially done, but a D for responsiveness and a C for professionalism for the second job that never happened."

"John gave me what I thought was a decent estimate that was in line with everyone else. He gave me a date for the work to be completed, but they didnt arrive on that date. On that they that they didn't arrive, I had cancelled an appointment to stay home that morning. When I called him, he was in Iowa working at his other location. When I let him know that I had cancelled an appointment to be here for the work, he said "Did we inconvenience you?" in an unfriendly tone. The crew came to do the work on a weekend. John is not a good communicator at all. John had told me that he was going to resurface the floor. I did not understand what that meant and assumed it was putting in new concrete because he did not explain it. I saw that the crew was just chopping up the floor and going to fill in the cracks. When I stopped them and contacted John, he said he had it noted down as resurfacing. When I explained to him that the he did not explain what resurfacing meant to me, he got upset and said I had to pay more. He first said the job would cost an extra $800. When I declined it, he offered the work to be done at an extra $400. After the job was complete, it was done nicely. When I advised him how many companies on Angie's List offer discounts to members, I asked what type of discount he offered. He said that he would add some decorations to the sidewalk and that was done. Also, when I saw that dirt needed to be replaced in the trenched along each side of the driveway and sidewalk, he said I would need to call someone else. I had to pay another contaractor $300 for the dirt to be filled after they finished the driveway and sidewalk. The work took three days and he only stopped by once to oversee the job and that was when we had the arguement over the garage floor. The product and quality of service was good, but the communication was bad. The workers did a good job and they worked hard. However, I would not recommend this company to someone else as I felt that dealing with John was not appropriate. He didn't offer good customer service in what I see in terms of what I feel is appropriate customer service for what a person would normally expect. <br />"

"Things I liked: David and his crew were extremely polite, personable, and professional. (The "three ps" of a good contractor.) They were willing to work around my schedule, particularly because of the later start. These guys were fast...like really fast. Got my job done in a day! Everything was explained to me, and I got some instructions on care and limitations of finishing over top of their trenches. They came back to do some brief touch-up work the next day, and left everything clean and tidy. David even worked around some of the goofy stuff in my basement. You know, the stuff you might find in a 100+ year-old house. All of the various drains, services, and pipes were left untouched, which is impressive because some of them were veeeeeery close to the perimeter where they were installing the drain. Lastly, my basement is now dry. Had a deluge of rain immediately following the work and I have not seen a drop! :D Things that could be improved on: Price - I mean, a price can always be lower, but their price is definitely fair for what is included. Their system was more expensive than some of their competitors, but there were several things about it that I preferred over others. Punctuality - The digital appointment card I was sent was for 8 AM so I was under the impression that they would arrive then (or soon after). I called at 9 to check in and was told they'd be there at 12:30 PM. This was not a problem for me, but I wish I had been told that earlier. Granted, the appointment I was sent could have just be left at the default time. Either way, not a big deal, but a bit of miscommunication. Bottom line: David and his crew were excellent. I would hire them again. My basement is dry. :D"

"Their Polylevel product was used to raise/level 32 yr old concrete deck around pool. Cracks were also repaired and sealed. Looks terrific and no longer a tripping hazard for the grandchildren!"

We plan to use Cutter Construction again on a new driveway and sidewalk along with any other remodeling we may decide to do. We were impressed from the first meeting to discuss what we wanted, to the quick turnaround on the estimate, to the scheduling of when they would start and completing on-time. Mike kept us updated as the projects moved along and was on the job site checking to see if the crew needed anything and how the jobs were progressing, Mike and his team were friendly and kept the job site picked up at the end of each day. We are enjoying our new screened porch and look forward to using our two stall garage--especially come winter. Mike and his construction company was wonderful to work with and very trust worthy. I would highly recommend Cutter Construction to anyone looking for residential remodeling and new build."
