"We are 100% delighted with what we call our new "living area" and the work completed by Rotten Rock. Our initial inquiry in the dead of winter was replied to the same day and a site visit almost immediately. Henry from Rotten Rock listened to our ideas (a lot of the inspiration came from other work Rotten Rock highlighted on their Facebook page) and helped us see how a natural bluestone patio would fit into our rustic country setting. The quote arrived promptly and we contracted the work, which began in earnest in the Spring of 2015. The job lasted about 3 weeks and the team performing the work were prompt, courteous, hard working and always did what they could to clean up at the end of each day...we could see the progress because they did so. They took any suggestions we had along the way (which weren't many) and answered all our questions. They were accommodating of the other contractors - and even installed all the underground conduit for the electrician - and offered to help with the hot tub installation. The attention to detail of the stone work is impressive and we are pleased to know that unlike the ugly old deck that we never used, we'll have an area that will last a lifetime (we have already spent more time in our backyard in the past two months than we did the previous 5 years we owned the house!). We were away for part of the installation but was kept informed via email from the office, which again, was always responsive. We would highly recommend Rotten Rock for any hardscaping and/or tree work (they removed a few trees for us a few years ago too) and would use them again without hesitation.
"

"Kurt and his team did a great job. the quality of the work was great, the price was what he said it would be and he performed the work as scheduled. My finished driveway looks great and I would definitely recommend him to others
"

"It went well. His idea of mounting a slab of concrete under the substructure of the steps satisfied me that it would work. The resulting slab should support the porch steps for the next eighty-five years, doubling the current age of the porch. The contractor was very knowledgeable with this type of repair work, explaining to me what he wanted to do and how he would do it. It was a bit more costly than I expected, but one does pay for knowledge and expertise."

"AMAZING! Don't think twice about these guys. Glen is punctual,
professional, affordable, creative, and precise. Oh and I forgot to
mention quick!

A reference from my realtor lead me to him, he
came in lower on any given quote I have been given by thousands. So I
was leary.... What quality of work will I get for the price? Will he have any ability to help us or is he really only good for executing orders?

In
short, he's AMAZING. He gets in and gets out, the work is awesome...
He's creative. I really can't imagine what my house would look like
without his input, it's a house full of problems, but he's a guy full of
really neat solutions. He helps find resources ("new" used windows) and he can do just about anything. I go to him with everything my house needs, because his price is as amazing as his work... and I'm 100% satisfied with it all!

I've been through 8 different contractors to get quotes for the same projects, I went with Glen for all of them, and I don't regret a thing. I give his number to all my friends."

"Very well
Putting in a gunite pool is a complicated and expensive project no matter who your pool company is. SSG did a fantastic job and I am thrilled with the end product. Quality experience overall with a couple of particular highlights for me.
Communication and project management:
Excellent communication during the process. Once the project was started, my project was put in the hands of a project scheduler who did a fantastic job keeping me in the loop on the process, the comings and goings of the various crews and the timing of various steps. She was the "face" of the company for me during the process and if there was an issue or question, I called her directly and she either had the answers or found the answers.
Expert Crews:
I have complete faith that I have the most technically sound (and very pretty) pool that I could buy. An excellent project scheduler/ point person is very important because an SSG pool is built by a number of crews - all very specialized and efficient at what they do: excavation, plumbing, rebar, electrical, gunite, plaster prep, plaster and service/startup etc.. We were impressed by the professionalism of each crew and by how efficiently they all worked while they were on site. Some of them we only saw for a few others, other crews were here a number of times - all friendly, showed up looking professional and worked hard while they were here. Excellent experience with the crews.
Responsiveness/ problem solving:
Not everything in our project went smoothly. We encountered a number of little challenges along the way - mostly out of anyone's control. I think it is easy to make a good impression when everything goes according to plan but the way SSG responded when the plan had to be altered highlights their deep experience and their commitment to a high quality product.
Competitive Pricing:
I have not investigated service pricing yet nor did I use SSG for the landscaping or patio/ deck/shed but I can comment on the pricing of the pool was competitive in this marketplace.
Advice:
1) Start the process early so you are not delayed by your town permitting process. These things take time...
2) Take the time to learn about the different options - there are a lot of things to choose at the beginning - try not to gloss over the details - I focused on total price of the project and should have been more careful in some of the choices I made initially that were the lower cost option but not necessarily the better option from an energy efficiency perspective or fulfilling the functionality that I really wanted. Examples are: types of pumps, fencing options, finished product/functionality of landscaping, pool lighting... I changed course a couple of times during the project to get it right but if I were doing it again, I would be more careful up front.
"
