"Scott is very professional and good at what he does. Our yard used to be pitched towards our house so would get rainwater in our basement during storms. He was able to fix this by working on our yard as well as giving us a new sidewalk. We have no more flooding. Our house was built in the 1960 and the front steps needed repair. He fixed this and made it much nicer to look at. He added a concrete pad on the side of our garage, so we have a to place to park our trailer. He made a beautiful stamped concrete patio in our backyard. 2 years after doing original work he started doing a project for our neighbors and he offered to reseal our concrete patio. He is good about deadlines as well. Without a doubt he goes above and beyond. Originally, we were planning to get a professionally done paved patio. We had a new concrete sidewalk, front step refinished, concrete pad driveway extension, stamped concrete patio, and he leveled our yard for cheaper than what we were quoted for a paved patio. 10/10 I would highly recommend."

"On June 21, 2013 we returned home from a morning of shopping and the work had been completed. He had done a great job There was no damage was to the concrete other than the expected drill holes and the area had been cleaned up. Most importantly - the slabs of concrete were back in place and level."

"The project came out much better than I ever thought it would. We had pulled up the carpet and tile on the basement floor and it had left a black mastic that we could not get up. We did not want either tile or carpet back in the basement in case of any water leeks. Although  A O Handy is in Wisconsin, they assured me that it was not a problem for them coming to Chicago for the work. They ground down the cement floor in the basement (about 1000 sq ft) to remove the mastic and to level out some floor. In addition, they filled holes with a cement that matched the existing floor. They applied a clear sealer to the floor. While they were there, they suggested that they seal the concrete floor in the garage. Since they had all the materials there already, the cost would be significantly lower. Made sense to me, so I had them do that also. In that I had put most of the things from the basement in the garage, preping the garage was a huge job. The guys helped me clear out the garage and were a big help, especially with the heavy things. The only down side to the project was the odor from the sealer. The garage odor cleared out quickly, but it took weeks for the basement to air out since there was so little ventilation there. The finished results: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE??.. <br />"

We shopped around and there are well known companies doing a similar type of work with a bigger price tag. I also like Basement Specialists contract and warranty better than the competition, because they promise to take responsibility for anything that could go wrong and they did. "After the May hail damage, we had lots to get fixed.  I had used Tim not too long before that storm, so I knew what his skill set was.  He came in the fall and replaced our roof on the house and the shed.  He had a team of 3 and they  got it done in a weekend. My main concern of doing the roof, was the nails that would end up on the ground.  I have 2 dogs so it was imperative that they find all of the nails that have fallen particularly in the back yard where my boys run. His team was friendly and hard working.  The past few weeks Tim was back as a one man show to tear off and put up our new siding.  He worked with me to get the exact color I was looking for. He then sided the shed in back. He had to do a lot of bending metal and changing out how the door closing worked.  The shed is now matching the house and doesn't look like a yellow barn anymore.  Then, I asked if he could take the porch railing off for me and enclose the posts with metal so I didn't have to paint and maintain them.  Tim is meticulous and very conscientious.  I would hire him again without question. <br />"
