"Came over on time.  Went through the entire roofing process and offered various options.  Even provided photographs for insurance claim purposes.  Performed the work in a timely fashion.  Roof looks terrific. <br />"

"Fantastic company! Rick and his crew are truly good and honest people, our #1 requirement in anything we do. They got right on the job, worked efficiently, always pleasant, and very clean. Aside from our sparkling new roof, you would never know they had been here. I wish I had a before picture of the roof so you could see the remarkable difference. Another thing we appreciated greatly was Rick uses environmentally safe materials. He also came in over 5000.00 less than our other quotes. We recommend John Minter Construction to anyone looking for exceptional work at an affordable price!"

"Chris is very professional and his workers are great at their job. His prices are good. Once he got the custom made windows in his shop the install went nicely. My ONLY complaint is that he is so busy that it takes so long to get him here to bid the job. then 2 weeks for the windows to be built. After all the waiting his guys get here and professionally install the beautiful new windows. If you can stand the wait Mitchell is the ONLY business to call for windows an/or doors. <br />"

"Jim Acord's company did a magnificent job putting a new roof on the house in Ashland. His estimate was very reasonable, and his crew worked efficiently and neatly. The job was completed on time using high quality materials. Quality Roofing has also done repairs on our roof in Medford, responding courteously and promptly to our requests. We give this business our highest recommendation."

"<p>You get what you pay for and he may not be the cheapest.  But it was so worth it!  Our master bath is amazing, a showpiece.  Linzey wasn't only always punctual, he was usually early for all appointments and daily work.  He was on site every day working right along with his subcontractors.  He was willing to do all of the other little projects that came up (we just bought our new house and there were tons of "others") like installing new door hardware, fixing doors that didn't close or even putting in new ones.  He was willing to take on extra projects like replacing sliding doors and bad flooring.  He was upfront about prices and worked quickly and efficiently but didn't cut corners.  His work was finished professionally, even all the minor details.  His subs were great: very personable, professional, clean, and trustworthy. They were there every day working hard and if there was ever an issue Linzey took care of it immediately to my standards.  They were all easy to get a hold of and Linzey was very responsive both on the phone and by email. If our opinions differed he was willing to work on a solution until we were both happy. </p> <p>For you women out there, it was like having a house of handy husbands gladly taking care of the honey-do lists and finishing all the projects on time just how you want them.</p> <br />"

"Four years ago, put a new roof on the house and at that time they removed the slate roof. Called, got an estimate, signed the agreement and set a date, which was all up to me. Installed the garage roof in one day and a couple of hours for the solar fans. For the house, they must have bought a huge crew. Went to work, came home and the new roof was on, old roof was gone and was cleaned up."

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

"All of Joel's crew were respectful, clean and punctual. They showed up when they said they would, quietly went about their work and finished in a timely manner. I wasn't sure of the color of roof to go with and trusted Joel's many years in the business. He chose a perfect match for the house. He had done some roof repair the year before for me. I liked his work then and knew I wanted him to do the new roof when I was able to swing it financially the next year. I would have no problem highly recommending him."

"They arrived on time, went right to work, cleaning as they went along. They looked for soft spots on our roof and located the one our son stated was up there. They removed the bad and replaced the plywood and shingles with all new products to match the existing roofing. They resealed the valleys and the vents as needed. We were more than satisfied with their work and professionalism."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Ashland, OR

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
