"I was extremely pleased with Elite Roofing Solutions! The team that replaced my roof was professional and courteous. They did a great job with cleanup after the roof was replaced. Also, Lynch Services did an amazing job at repairing my ceilings and painting on the inside of my house."

"From my initial contact with Will all went extremely well. After checking with the shingle manufacturer of my existing shingles, I found that I had faulty shingles and had to go through the process of filing a claim with the manufacturer. This put a major kink in planning for a new roof, but Will and the Excellent Roofing crew were not impatient and were very helpful. Finally, the time came for a new roof. I was provided with a detailed list of what would be done, except for what might need to be repaired under the existing roof. I was, however, given a detailed list of the cost of possible repairs to the decking. The crew arrived at the scheduled date and time and began its work. The machinery used was remarkable--NOT two men and a wheelbarrow! State of the art machines were used to collect the debris as it was removed from the roof. There was absolutely no mess, and my newly landscaped foundation plantings were not disturbed. Will provided us with estimates of several shingle types as well as additional guarantees and options we could select or reject. We decided to use a designer shingle that was was a couple of steps up from the basic roof and to include several upgrades for ice and leak protection as well as warranty extensiosn. (We have been plagued by leak problems for years.) The new roof was installed, and it is beautiful. We could not be happier with the result. The product and the workmanship are, as the name says, Excellent Roofing!"

".Dylan and his crew did a fine job, finished most of job in one day, then were hampered by weather, came back in a couple of days to fully finish cleanup. Also cut down large bushes and small trees for a great price. Cleanup was thorough. <br /> Dylan Martin no longer works for Republic, he's started his own company, Martin Restoration LLC  ( 901-581-6199), has kept the crew who did my roof. I plan to use them for some other repairs and I've already recommended his company to a friend of mine. <br />"

"They came out on Monday, a little later than promised and went right to work. They had the old roof off in two days, cleaned up afterwards and hauled all the old shingles away. As they were removing the old roof, it was discovered that one of the eaves had some rotten wood and they repaired it and gave me a good price for the repair. I am very pleased with the quality of work performed. They even cleaned all of the gutters for me."

"Mr. Applegate repaired the leak and explained to me the damage that was causing the leak. I found him to be very honest and knowledgeable about the work he was performing. He showed up to give me an estimate for the leak, but instead repaired my roof  in a matter of minutes. Being an ex-marine I always inspect what I expect and found is work to be of good quality. I had called another company on Angie's List and they called me back only to say they dialed the wrong number. I will leave a review for them as well. Still have not heard from them.  <br /> I will definitely recommend him to friends and family. <br />"

"It went well.  These guys were through.  What they told us is the exact same thing that the insurance company adjuster said also.  The sad part is that we got the roof replaced about a month after they did they minor repairs! <br />"

"Very well! I had four roofing companies check our roof issue. “Same day roofing” called us first, came out same day and I received their bid the very next day. The other three companies promised written estimates but they never got back with me, one was a company I had used to install my gutters and do minor roofing issues in the past. While “same day” was here on initial inspection, without asking blew leaves off my roof. 0n the work day he added a flexible pipe boot connection , not on original bid but was mentioned by the second bidder and “Same Day” did not increase bid estimate. Also, “Same Day roofing” used a “metal Brake” to custom fit flashing and without asking improved upon a roof drip edge that another company charged me for, with a hand made larger drip edge using the metal brake to accomplish this task."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Memphis, TN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
