Customers say: True professional

"I would have hired this company right away but it turned out that we had a defective dishwasher, not an electrical problem. I was very impressed with Affordable Elecric's immediate response to my request and how nice he was about being willing to assist right away. I will hire him definitely the next time I have an electrical problem."

"I can say that Cody is a diligent worker and a competent electrician however my project was dismissed by Cody with much outstanding work still to do. As a professional in the building industry I happen to know that scheduling and coordinating the various trades is a challenge. With the roof of my building open sky, work was rescheduled and pushed back a couple of weeks. A full week prior to being on the schedule again, I reached out to postpone further because it was apparent that other work to prepare would still not be completed. This prompted a requirement to pay a $300 "rescheduling fee" before the schedule would be adjusted. Having expressed that I was not ok with the surcharge, I said I would get back to him as I further consider. Later the same day I indicated that we keep the schedule as it was, but it had already been changed and I was dismissed as a client with "I wish you the best" I have to protect my schedule and be fair to other clients. I am left stranded."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Auburn, ME

Because installing coax outlets involves working around existing electrical wiring and confirming proper grounding, many homeowners prefer to hire a licensed electrician. A professional completes the work safely, secures the line behind the wall, and ensures the installation meets local code, which reduces the risk of damage or future repairs.

You still need a coaxial outlet for most cable-based internet services. The modem draws its signal from a cable line that terminates at a dedicated wall jack. Once the modem is online, your Wi-Fi router can broadcast the signal throughout the home, so the outlet’s location doesn’t affect wireless performance. If an existing jack is damaged or in an inconvenient spot, an electrician can move it or install a new one to maintain a strong, reliable connection.

Coaxial cable loses signal strength the farther it runs. A 50-foot length introduces noticeable loss, and a 100-foot stretch can drop the signal by roughly 30%. A weaker signal can result in a fuzzy picture or slower internet speeds. To maintain high performance, limit cable length whenever possible, select the correct cable grade, and route it efficiently. If your layout demands an exceptionally long run, an electrician can install an inline amplifier to boost the signal and maintain picture or data quality.
