"RPI said they used their own crews but they had sub contracted a crew to install my roof (All Roofing companies do this). After the old roof was removed and it was dried in, they came back the next day and were installing shingles in the rain on a wet roof. I had to ask them to stop and come back the next day when it was not raining. The GAF Cobra2 Ridge vents were installed incorrectly, Only one side of the ridge was cutout on all the ridges. I had to ask them to do them over. One of the ridges was overcut + 3 inches on each side where the vent was not even supported properly. That was the main roof. I had to get another manager involved, convince them it was not installed correctly, then took over a month to get them back with a crew and the proper materials to correct the problem. They used top quality materials and the end result turned out great after the ridge vent issue was corrected so I'm giving a B rating."

"Brandon Wilkes and Humbled Roofing & Restoration were superb from day 1. Brandon was so helpful walking us through how to go about contacting our insurance to get our wind damaged roof repaired. He even made sure he was here when the insurance adjuster came. He went above and beyond with his excellent customer service. He made what could've been a stressful process stress free. He was available at anytime with any questions we had. When they worked on our roof, they were very efficient and careful not to damage any of our yard and very diligent when it came to clean up. By the end of the day, we had an amazing new roof! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone!"

After my intialinitial consultation, James provided me with sound guidance and recommendations. I can say that the Blaine construction team aim at helping thier client make the best decision both in quality and pricing. Once the project was started, they arrived on time and work to completion in a timely manner. I happy with how my flooring turn out and glad I listen to thier recommendations. Afterwards blaine construction offer me some minor home repair which I jump at the chance since i was pleased with they're pricing and work ethics. "They were on time and professional. The job did not go without problems though. After installation we had a rainy day and had several leaks at the back porch cover. They did come back within 2 days and fixed the problem. Also had some shingles that were sticking up on the roof and they added more glue and that fixed the problem. As far as I can tell at this point, all leaks have been fixed in a timely manner. They were quick to respond to our problem. I would hire them again, but my husband was super upset and he does not share my sentiment. He did not expect any problems after job completion. I was much more calm and had no doubt they would come back and all would be well....which it was in the end."

"Every single person who I came in contact with was courteous, knowledgeable, and quick to respond if a message was left. We have a one-story house with a big roof, so the roofers were here for two days. I never saw anyone who wasn't working hard the entire time they were here, and they were well trained and experienced. My roof looks great, and I know that if I were to have a problem, Schwartz Roofing will be here to address it."

"<p>It took almost a month and a half after the original agreement for the roofing to start.  They were very busy because of the winter storm.  Once scheduled, they arrived on time and completed the job in a day and a half.  The cleanup was adequate but I did find quite a few roofing nails in yard over the next few weeks.  There was a problem on the first hard rain where my sunroom meets the rest of the house.  I had a leak which ran down an inside brick wall.  Called them and they came and fixed the problem within a few days before the next rain.  Have had no problems since.  Overall, I was very happy with my experience with their workers and sales team.  They gave the best quote and did what the agreement stated.</p> <br />"

"It went well. They kept constant communication with me. They even brought me examples of sidings. We talked about different options. I would use them again. I appreciate any contractor that takes the time to talk to me about my concerns. I appreciate reasonable honest prices. My siding was melting due to the reflection off of my neighbor's windows (hot summer sun)."

"Great - we needed the work done quickly and Avery fit us in and actually came to the house at 9 pm to get it started so it could be done in a couple of days. He finished the work on time and did a fantastic job. Very professional at a very reasonable price."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Augusta, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
