"Have had Leafguard gutters on my house for several years. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Yes, they keep the leaves out of the gutters, but they are an absolute freaking nightmare in the winter - icicle build-up like you can't believe! Not one other house in my subdivision has icicles but then none of them have Leafguard gutters either. I have a detached garage, and the gutters and resulting icicles cause solid ice on the the sidewalk between the house and garage. I had Leafguard come out a couple years ago to look at the problem and they told me its because the cold air runs under the Leafguard, as well as above it - similar to what happens with a road bridge. So when the sun hits the snow on your roof and it starts to melt (even in below freezing temps), the water freezes on the Leafguard and doesn't go over the lip into the gutter. Leaguard's solution after they came out and looked at what is happening was to recommend spending a few thousand more dollars to put a heating coil on their gutters, and even then they wouldn't guarantee this would solve the problem. I'm seriously considering having them come out and remove the ones between the house and garage."

"The job did not go well. I realize times are different, companies are short-handed, and there's a tremendous demand for services. I'm willing to cut them some slack under the circumstances. But . . . Monarch is subcontracting out their work and they really don't have enough control over their subs. On several occasions, workers didn't show up when they're supposed to, which was frustrating when we arranged our schedule around them. We had to watch them constantly to make sure they were doing what we contracted them for, and constantly had to point out things they missed or did poorly. There was essentially no oversight provided by our Monarch representative. When they told us they would do something, there was a 50% chance of them actually doing it. In fact, they deceptively told us they did things they hadn't actually done. The job looks bad, and the work quality is poor. When a Monarch rep different than the one we were working with came by, he remarked that it wasn't quality work and needed to be addressed. Our rep said he'd come by to assess things himself and then never did. Ultimately, they won. They wore us down and we got sick of dealing with them. We gave up. I wouldn't recommend using them. I'd look for other options."

"If I could go back in time, I would choose ANY other company......This company took 3 months after my roof install (in 30 degree weather) to return my calls letting them know they forgot to install my gutters, damaging my home and seriously inconveniencing my family. When we finally spoke to them again, they admitted they lost the guttering order, and said they had the wrong phone number and email and were supposably contacting someone else about my home. They do not care about their customers or value their customers time."

Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters is a well established company built from the ground up by experienced industry professionals. From the beginning, our vision was to provide a higher level of service and value that transforms the opinions of all those who see the roofing industry in a tarnished light. Fostering this vision means doing what is right every time. Adding a powerful custom CRM to the mix, utilizing technological advances, and partnering with shingle manufacturers. A lot has occurred since our inception, but we’ve met and exceeded all of our goals. We couldn’t be more proud of our team members and our combined accomplishments! Follow our Journey Experienced Leader _ Our Owners Upper management has changed over the years with the coming and going of some staff like Production Managers and Office Managers but the founding partners continue to keep the wheels turning. Each of the partners has been in the roofing industry and brings with them a boatload of success stories and skills that make for the perfect team.
"I would not recommend Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters for your needs nor would I recommend Jon be trusted out of sight. In Jon's words; Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters Is a company for people that are ok with "Not Perfect" work. Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters Is for people that are OK with "So-So work". Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters Is for people that are not "Persnickety" about the work done to their house. These are quotes from Jon of Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters. We are at a stand still as of this review. Unless you are planning on watching everything that happens on your roof or to your gutters and inspecting in detail every action performed; do not hire Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters. I own a town home in Pinewood HOA. The other half of my building is owned by a real estate agent and Broker of NorthWest Real Estate, Lorraine S. Because if this, I trusted and accepted her recommendation to have Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters replace our shingles and gutters. There was intense communication and immediate call backs before work began. As soon as men were on my roof this experience all but disappeared. Any calls I made regarding concerns or questions were met with delayed response and convoluted excuses. My roof was mostly torn off by the first realization of this new business practice. My concerns were met with finger pointing at details I "should be concerned with" that were not Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters responsibility. My questions were answered vaguely and with delayed response and misdirection. Jon, who as best I can tell, is the project manager for my Contract, was at my house twice. Once to meet me and once to finally address my concerns after my refusal to pay for services do to an unmitigated error had remained unattended to two months after I voiced concern over it. Bruno was left in charge of handling me until his ability to do so expired. I seem to be in a battle over two unsightly crooked downspouts that were left despite my complaints. Both Bruno and Jon seem unaffected by this concern and dismissed me. Two months after my first phone call to Jon regarding the crooked downspouts, Jon finally goes out to my house to see in person where his "Gutter Guy" removed the mounting brackets to the downspout from the side of my house and moved them and it over where it now buts into my water spigot but puts the gutter drop and downspout straight. When I voiced concern about the exposed holes and newly drilled holes Jon said "you should be concerned about the front of the house where your grape vine was". (I had to cut my Ten year old, in its prime, Concord grape vine down or the "Gutter Guy" would not mount the new downspout) Jon never revisited my concern with the side of the house, and its modification, leaving me to defend why the front was not "perfect" because of my actions. Frustrated I moved on to my primary concern, the remaining, still existing, crooked downspout at the rear of the house. Jon's comments to me regarding my concern there was "Ya, its not perfect," "it is so-so" and "You are being persnickety.", and finally "I don't think it's worth not paying your bill over.". Jon in his comments admitted a visible and physical issue and a complacent disregard for me my property and its appearance. Along with show little regard for my property, Jon displayed a lackadaisical attitude for his job in quality control all but no concern for completing a job well done. Now, this has raised concern with all other work performed and ignored by Jon and Bruno and Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters that is not apparent and hidden from view. We are at a stand still as of this review. Unless you are planning on watching everything that happens on your roof or to your gutters and inspecting in detail every action performed; do not hire Rocky Mountain Roofers and Gutters."

Old, leaky, or sagging gutters can’t move water away from your roof and foundation. If you see rust, cracks, frequent clogs, or water spilling over the edges, it’s time to replace the system. A fresh set of gutters restores proper drainage, protects siding and landscaping, and helps you avoid far more costly roof or foundation repairs. In short, new gutters are a small investment compared with the damage a failed system can cause.
The best material for gutter replacement depends on your specific circumstances and budget. Climate can affect the ideal material choice. For example, aluminum gutters are an affordable and versatile option that suits many climates, but galvanized steel is best suited if your home is subject to high winds or extreme weather conditions.
Most new gutter systems carry two warranties: a manufacturer's warranty that covers the material and a contractor's warranty that covers installation workmanship. Terms vary, so ask each professional how long their warranty lasts and exactly what it covers, such as leaks, rust, or labor. Confirm that any seamless or specialty gutters include the same protection. Understanding both warranties before work begins ensures you know who will fix future issues and for how long.
Gutters last between 20 and 50 years when installed and maintained with precision. The lifespan of gutters is determined by the quality of materials and the care taken during installation. Regular cleaning and consistent maintenance ensure that your gutter system operates efficiently for decades. This careful upkeep protects your home from water damage by maintaining clear and effective drainage.
If your gutters collect leaves or pine needles, guards are a smart add-on. By blocking debris, they reduce cleanings, prevent clogs that cause overflow, and help the system last longer. Upfront cost varies by guard type, but many homeowners recoup that expense through fewer service calls and less ladder time. Ask your installer which style works best for your local foliage and climate.
Plan to clean and inspect your gutters at least twice a year—typically in spring and fall. If you’re surrounded by tall trees or live in a storm-prone area, check them more often. Regular maintenance keeps water flowing, prevents sagging, and helps spot minor issues before they turn into big repairs. For added safety or convenience, schedule a professional service to handle high ladders and debris disposal.
