"This was a local move in Los Angeles, and overall the experience was solid. I?ll start with the good part ? the movers knew what they were doing. Furniture was wrapped properly, boxes were handled with care, and nothing arrived broken or scratched, which is the most important thing for me. There were a couple of small things that weren?t perfect. One box ended up in the wrong room at first, and I had to ask them to move it again. Also, the disassembly of the bed took a bit longer than I expected, which slowed things down slightly. Nothing major, just small delays. That said, once everything was unloaded, they took the time to make adjustments without complaining. They moved the couch twice so it fit better, tightened the bed frame after setup, and made sure the heavier items were placed safely. "Much to our dismay we had Alpine Movers move us from Westminster to Arvada, CO. First off they did not honor the "inventory" taken by their estimator and refuse to move certain items which were specificly stated at the time of the esitate and 'inventory'. For example we stated that our 8x10 plastic shed had to be moved. They moved the sides and roof, but refuse to move the metal frame and braces... We mentioned that all the lawn furniture and everything on the back portch was to be moved - they refused to move the fishing gear and sporting goods on the patio and one lawn chair which was in the yard... Plus too many other item to mention. Thus we had to get someone else to move these items. In the process, they broke the glass in our heiloom hutch and crushed an heirloom stained glass piece. Yes, after about a month they replace the glass. After badgering them for another month the sent a check for the crushed stained glass piece - only to discover that the check bounced for 'Insufficient Funds'. Upon arrival and downloading in Avada there seemed to be a severe lack of motivation and activity on their part. Many items and scads of boxex were taken to be back yard and left - including our personal safe! We were quoted a certain abount but when we got the bill it had been raised $400 (30%) above wheat we were told. When we tried calling about these issues the only person we could get through to was the secretary. To date the bad check has not been cleared nor had we heard from anyone at Alpine Moving about it. It give this shody company a -1 rating. Poor communication. Poor accountability. Very unprofessional."
