"Initial rep was great and informative. Felt comfortable with initial sale. Hardly had any contact from customer service except for the payments. There were several delays that we were not informed about unless we called to ask. Took 7 months before they showed up to begin project. Only 1 person was sent to build steps. Took a week. Hard worked, hardly took a break. Had to call again to see when they would come to pour patio. Never knew when they were coming, they just showed up. Hardly spoke with the homeowners. Inspection paperwork was just left on porch. Additional paperwork that is "required by the County" had to be completed by homeowner and taken to Court house to be notarized and filed and also provide a copy back to Long Fence. Time sensitive materials which added to homeowners to-do list. Gave this contract to LF on the surface of their history and appearance of a 'good local company' but should have stayed with original contactors in VA. Puddle of water forms when it rains"

"Two best things with Shawn’s work: the 3D modeling he did on the spot so we could see in advance where problem spots might arise and get a feel for the aesthetics upfront; and his willingness to shoot down ideas that were impractical or unwieldy rather than follow the “customer is always right” logic that other contractors swore by. Got the exact kitchen, countertops, counters and storage we wanted in the end, and they did ok with the warranty period to shore up minor issues. One appliance was damaged upon installation, but they took care of that expediently and it didn’t cost us anything additional."

"My wife and I bought a house with an over-the-range microwave that simply recirculated air. It did not vent outside. My wife really wanted the exhaust from the stove to vent outside. Also, a powder room adjacent to the kitchen did not have an exhaust fan. We wanted a fan installed and then wanted the exhaust from the bathroom to vent outside. We made appointments with 3 electricians to visit our home and give us a quote on the job. When they arrived to do the work, they realized that due to the unconventional way that the house was framed, they would be unable to run the exhaust pipes as they had planned. The obstacle was that on the other side of the kitchen and powder room is a three-season room, which they couldn't exhaust into. Because of the extra joists, they couldn't go over the room. After brainstorming and troubleshooting the job, they came up with a way to run the duct work through the soffits of the house, and then direct the duct work sideways, so that it vents out of the side of the three-season room. Daniel and his crew were responsive, punctual, courteous, creative, and willing to go "outside the box" to provide the service we wanted. The job was completed over the course of one day.
