"Juan and Gabrielle did an amazing job removing our old tile from our house. They finished the whole job in two days. They were very efficient and knew what they were doing. They removed approximately 650 square feet tile from our floors. They also moved washer, dryer and removed toilet/faucet to do underneath. My husband and I am very satisfied with the job they have done and we def recommend Pineda to anybody in need of floor work. We would probably hire them again for our upstairs floors."

***Call Jack at 412-771-2118 or 412-310-2405 to schedule service. PLEASE CALL! DO NOT TEXT OR EMAIL I WILL NOT GET IT.*** Serving the Pittsburgh area for 25 years. Owner Operator. 2 Employees. Uses subs for plumbing and electrical work. Cost determined by the job. No travel charges

"Jack came in with I’m old school personality but I do it right and gave us a massively high bid. We went with him because we like old school and were tired of dealing with shoddy work. Unfortunately it was not a good experience from the start. As soon as he sanded and stained the upstairs, there were large spots in multiple places, weird zig-zag lines, orbital scratches, and a total mismatch of colors between two rooms. Jack didn’t tell us about them and told us not to walk upstairs due to the stain. The color looked good from the stairs, and he went ahead and put the Bono laquer on (same laquer he used on an adjacent room last year). When we noticed these issues. Jack told us they were not his fault and it was the old wood. In hind sight we should have stopped there, but we had already been out of our house for 2 weeks. He finished the downstairs and the same issues were present, though arguably worse. He had to screen the floor to get all the orbital scratches out. We were now 4 weeks out of our house. He gave us an array of excuses, telling us he never say this before etc. He finished up. He also removed our trim and was supposed to come back and install new trim (we paid for it, sitting in our garage). At this point when the varnish dried we understood what had happened. The floor has issues everywhere. To add insult to injury, the wood he picked up and stained was too high and did not fit due to our outlets. We called Jack expressing what a mess the floors were. He came over and gave us more excuses. Jack blamed it on our wood (which it clearly wasn’t as there were no stains after the last job on them), then the stain (it was cheap minwax), and then the bono finish (the strangest one since the stains were there before the finish). He even brought his insurance in to try to have them cover the bill but they refused stating it was user error. We had 4 people come and assess them and got the same response from them all 1. He used an orbital sander on 100-year-old floors causing significant swirls 2 He used cheap minwax stain 3. He used his orbital and burned the stain into the wood (no Tbar, water pop, etc). 4. He was sloppy with the stain and dripped spots in various areas 5. He never tested the stain to see if it matched with his prior room We told him they needed redone. Due to the time it would take and situation we all though it best to get someone else to do it. Jack and I spoke multiple times and he agreed to compensate us for this. I said lets just split the difference. He said to get the floors done and send him proof that we did. We finished them (was several $1000 cheaper than Jack and took 2 weeks instead of 5 from him) and sent him the proof. He then pulled an about face and refused to reimburse us, going against his word. He said he would reimburse us some money back to help redo everything, and I got suckered again as once we had the floors complete, he refused. We used a different varnish that can be spot repaired due to our fear of having to redo the floors. Coming full circle in the saga, Jack put a sign up while he was working on the floors and my neighbor used him in her kitchen. She had exactly the same issue, a large spot on the floor. I called Jack out on it after the fact and he blamed it on cat pee from the past. The women actually resanded the floors and restained them herself without issue. No stain is there now…. We are out $15,000 (yes our fault for getting ripped off on the price). The most disappointment was Jack’s lack of standing by his work and his dishonesty telling us to have someone repair his mistake and he would return some of our money to pay. Yes, as you read this you are probably thinking what suckers. We just hope this avoids someone else getting suckered."

Pittsburgh Remodeling Company is built on the principles of customer service and craftsmanship. Through partnership with homeowners, the team at PRC can help achieve any vision for your home remodeling project. While every home and every project is different, when Pittsburgh Remodeling Company is involved there are certain constants: The work looks amazing and the customers are satisfied. So if you’re looking for more than a contractor, for a company that will care about your project and final product as much as you do, let’s start a conversation .

"I wasn't planning on writing a review about our experience with PRC, but after finding more examples of poor workmanship on a project that was supposed be completed 10 months ago, I've changed my mind. This post is not motivated by malice, but we are very disappointed. PRC came highly recommend, and we knew we'd be paying a premium for a good company. We expected a lot more on a job that nearly totaled 40K. Our entire project was not terrible, and there were areas where PRC excelled. First the Good: PRC was organized and prompt every day that they came to work. They respected our home, and did their best to make sure the rest of the house remained clean. They stuck to the contract. They were always patient with us and answered our questions. Their design assistance was great, and we love the aesthetics that were chosen for hour kitchen project. They definitely listened and tried to address our concerns (but they fell short). The Bad: This is just my theory, but I feel as though our project was considered insignificant compared to more complicated work that I know PRC does. We are going to have to replace the new floor in our kitchen/dining room that is not 12 months old because PRC failed to install it properly. We will now be forced to spend another 3-4 K on the replacement. To be fair, PRC returned most of our money we paid them for the floor. I appreciate this greatly, but it is going to cost us money we didn't plan on spending on getting it right. The floor co. we are using now took one look at the floor and explained all the areas that were done incorrectly. They are going to use our floor as an example of poor installation to future clients. They will also photograph the new floor to present a before and after example. The plumbing under our sink came undone after maybe 2 months. This was repaired promptly, but I worry about its longevity. Switch plates and the new heat register were installed crooked. Again, this was fixed, but why not install it right the first time? The issue that is forcing me to write this review, the paint. I believe this was a 1200 item on our work order. They came multiple times in order to get it right. It still isn't. There are areas that are not covered, blotchy, and simply not painted at all. As I was cleaning a portion of the wall yesterday, I noticed that there are entire sections of wall that are not painted. It is just bare wall compound. We did not receive a refund for the paint, but I did not ask for one. My mistake. It should not take multiple visits to paint one room properly. However, this is another example of how I will be spending more time and money for something that I already paid for. There are more issues, but these are the most significant. Again, we are so disappointed. We wanted to work with PRC on future projects, but that is impossible now. We actually don't even want to get involved in any more home projects after this experience. I think PRC has the ability to deliver quality work, but for some reason they fell quite short with our home. We have currently tried to contact PRC about the additional problems we have found, and have been ignored. Proceed with caution!"

FAQs for door painting or staining projects in Beaver Falls, PA

Professional painters can complete an exterior door painting project in one to three hours, not including drying time. The timeline depends on the door's condition, required preparation, and the number of coats needed.

Weather conditions significantly impact drying times, with high humidity or extreme temperatures extending the process. Most doors require 24 to 48 hours of curing time before resuming normal use.

While removing the door provides optimal access to all surfaces and edges, many professional painters achieve excellent results with the door remaining in place. For in-position painting, proper hardware protection and masking are essential. Door removal becomes more beneficial when dealing with significant damage, when painting both sides simultaneously, or when making dramatic color changes that require extra coats.

The ideal paint for exterior doors is a high-quality, weather-resistant formulation designed specifically for outdoor conditions. Acrylic latex paints offer excellent moisture resistance and color retention, while oil-based options provide superior hardness for high-traffic areas. Semi-gloss or gloss finishes repel dirt and moisture more effectively than flat finishes. Door material also influences paint selection—metal doors benefit from rust-inhibiting formulas, while wood doors may require specialized primers.

Hiring a professional delivers superior results for exterior door painting, especially for front entrances where appearance matters most. Professionals bring specialized equipment, extensive experience, and efficient techniques that ensure a smooth, durable finish.

While DIY painting saves on labor costs, you'll need proper tools, adequate preparation knowledge, and sufficient time to achieve comparable results. For complex door styles or when changing colors dramatically, professional expertise often justifies the additional expense.
