"Diones painted both interior and exterior of my house. He did an excellent job. Was very organized and detail orientated. He was very dedicated to both projects to ensure the jobs met our satisfaction. He was very good about keeping work area clean and neat. Diones and his staff were very pleasant and polite. We would definitely use them again for any painting projects we have."

"John and his team arrived on time every single day for the three consecutive days it took to paint the entire interior of my house. Not only was John tasked with painting, but he was also asked to replace a lot of broken molding and baseboards. The work performed was truly exceptional and exceeded my expectations. I will be hiring John again this spring to do some more exterior painting for my barn, as well as some unrelated exterior work on my house."

"Pete helped us completely redesign and renovate our outdated hall bath and rebuild master bath shower. During demolition he kept his work area super tidy at all times (no dust and junk through the rest of the house), was always on time and sensitive to working around our home schedule. We did not experience the major inconvenience we were dreading. He upgraded and fixed prior owner's shoddy renovation in master bath (major issues) as well building a super solid foundation for the new walk in shower. He did such a great job that we asked him back in May to renovate our hall bath. He had to fix a LOT of the previous owners "cheap fixes". We threw him a few curveballs during design, (with add ons and material changes) and he handled them easily. This new bathroom is so well built now, it will outlive us all! We have had lots of work done and major renovations over the years, and Pete at Hammer Time is the only one I have taken the time to write a review about. Because my grandma always said if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

"The water heater broke on Thanksgiving Day. We waited to call the next day, because we didn't want to pay extra for a holiday service call. The repairman came a few hours after the call. He checked the heater, determined what was causing the pilot light to go out, and fixed it. In the paperwork, he reported the service call. The work was completely satisfactory. <br /> However, regarding the company's price policies for delivery of propane gas, there is a problem. Several times, we discovered that the rate we were being charged for the propane had gone up substantially. My wife called them, and they said that we were entitled to a discounted rate because we are year-round residents. The rate would be lowered, only to be raised again the next month. It was necessary to call about this problem several times. If you are a year-round resident, make sure you are not paying exhorbitant rates for your propane delivery from Pyrofax. <br />"

"Brett did an absolutely fantastic job on 3 interior rooms of my house. One thing that I find really separates him from the pack his his commitment to quality. He takes pride in his work and it really shows in the finished product. In addition to great workmanship, his demeanor is pleasant and he is extremely courteous which goes a long way when someone is working in your living space. I’d hire again. 10 out of 10."

"Very well. Walls had to be removed plus all cabinets. Removed a disposed of all. New floors put in. Ran electric where needed. Over all a lot of work needed to be done. Did all work and was done in a very professional way. Not too much of a mess. My kitchen turned out awesome!!"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Bennington, VT

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
