".Painted a 20 X 20 room with built in bookshelves and cabinet and fireplace.  Painted walls, pitched ceiling with beams, trim, and the built ins.  Painted the fireplace.  Fixed a leak around the fireplace on the roof and sealed some windows that were also leaking.  Treated mold on a small area around the window and a large section of the fireplace.  Did some minor carpentry work.  Checked the roof for any other problems.  Checked the roof repair after raining to make sure the repair was holding up.  Also painted the ceiling in a 10 X 12 room which was bright turquoise  Took several coats to cover. <br /> Tess was wonderful.  Highly recommend her.  Made many good suggestions not only on the the current job but on others things I asked her about.  Always on time.  Called if delayed by traffic.  Very professional.   <br /> THANKS TESS!!!!!! <br />"

"Went very well. We contacted David and he was able to meet with us that very day to give an estimate.  We were under a tight time line due to bank closing on a mortgage loan and required inspection before closing.  David was able to get the needed work done prior to the inspection even working late into the evening to get it done on time. He and his crew were always polite and responsive and cleaned up after themselves. Would highly recommend Dependable Painting."

"Mr. Mooney came out and gave the estimate and they he came back with his helper, Jerry, and did the work.  There was no marketing agent.  The work was done for the price estimated, so we knew from the start how much it would cost. <br /> Initially, Steve and his assistant, Jerry, spent half a day cleaning our home exterior.  This included treatment with a solution to remove mildew, washing, scrubbing and power washing.  They did a thorough job cleaning 15 years of dirt and mildew off our home and it looked much better.  <br /> After our home had a few days to dry out, Steve replaced select pieces of trim and soffit material as needed.  He found damaged areas that we didn't even know about!  All joints and seams were caulked.  He and Jerry then painted on two coats of paint.  Steve also built new wood shutters for our front windows (a big improvement on our louvered plastic shutters) and installed recessed can lights on our front porch (we provided the lights).  We were very pleased with the quality of their work.  <br /> Top notch quality and very reasonably priced.  We strongly recommend them and we would use them again. <br />"

"Mr. Kelly and I spoke by phone and agreed on a time for him to give an estimate for exterior painting for our house and garage. Mr. Kelly showed up at the appointed time (actually a few minutes early) and gave me a quote right away. My wife and I decided after getting this quote and another to go ahead and do the work ourselves since we were out for the summer from teaching school. I called him later to tell him this and left a message. He returned the call offering to discuss cheaper options (which I appreciated), but at that point we already made up our minds. I was impressed by his professionalism, punctuality and fairness."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Benton, MS

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
