"I would love to give this business the full five stars, but that's hard to do when the customer isn't given complete information and incurs unknown/excess charges for dump fees. Brian is very professional and easy to work with. I only needed the dumpster for 2.5 days (even though his minimum is 3 days) and he discounted the dumpster rental. He explained to me that the items that I described I would throw out would probably be around .5 tons, which would be $100 (and he was accurate, they weighed .6 tons). Originally Brian was supposed to drop the dumpster off on Thursday, but he had issues with his hitch and couldn't drop it off until Sunday late morning. This was fine, I was sympathetic to his unexpected issues, and agreed to accept the dumpster on Sunday, which he would pick up on Tuesday late morning. When he dropped the dumpster off, he explained that any appliances or chemicals, paints, etc. would incur him extra charges at the dump, and I would need to inform him of any of those things upon pickup. Again, no issues, as I only threw out furniture, trash, metal, and wood. Where the issue of unknown/excess charges comes in is that I threw out two mattresses. I was never informed by Brian that mattresses would incur charges at the dump of $60 apiece. Had I known this, I told him I would've either cut up the mattresses before tossing them, or keep them and take them with me on my upcoming move. In fact, when Brian was texting me on Tuesday morning, to prepare for pickup, he asked if I had anything he needed to know about (chemicals, paints, etc) and I texted him that I did not, that it was wood, metal, furniture, trash and mattresses. Again, I was not told at that point that mattresses would cost $60 apiece. After I was charged Tuesday afternoon, I texted and emailed Brian, asking about the price and inquiring as to whether or not he had accidentally overcharged me. He responded that the price was the cost for rental, cost for .6 tons at the dump, and $120 for two mattresses. I explained to him what I wrote in this review: that he hadn't informed me beforehand of the mattress charges, and that I wouldn't have thrown them out, as that is a ridiculous charge for the mattress fee, and I would've just held onto them if I had known that. All in all, Ambrose & Sons is easy to work with and professional, and Brian apologized for not informing me about the mattresses. However, he never offered to split the difference in price for the mattresses (refund me partially) for not informing me of the mattress charges ahead of time. I would fully recommend this company, but would suggest that in the future, Brian attach a document to the digital contract, listing items that could incur extra fees, to avoid forgetting to tell the customer about these items. Since I am moving and already spending a lot of money, I have a budget, and like most people, don't like surprise fees added by the dump when it comes to paying the bill at the end."
