"I think this is my 3rd review for the same job, but I keep thinking of more positive things to share about Chris and Weathermaster. We originally had a leak in one part of the roof. Chris didn't think the entire roof needed replacing at this time, but since we were also going to have solar installed by another provider (GC Electric Solar), we went forward with the whole roof. Chris's bid was the most affordable for the same product- Owens Corning Duration Cool shingles; while I loved the other options, I chose Night Sky color to best blend with solar panels. It has a layer of Titanium UDL 30 underlayment as well as all the new flashing, 4 new turbine vents etc. This shingle reflects heat away from the attic, reducing the amount of heat transferred into the home. This category of Cool shingle comes in 10 attractive colors. Chris brought a sample board for me to see selections. (The solar guys really wanted to do the roof too but they could not come close to Chris's bid for the *same product*. I'm glad we kept the two projects separate.) The work was completed quickly and my husband and I were so impressed by the hard working crew. They did not mess around, but got the job done. The finish was broom clean and debris hauled away. We did discover the gas hot water heater vent pipe had been knocked off its proper position on top of the heater from its manipulation during reroofing. One call and Chris came pronto, fixing it himself that evening. Chris itemized the invoice as we requested, showing costs for the section of roof which would be under the solar panels, and the rest of the roof. Our accountant advised we could include that portion supporting the panels in factoring the solar tax credit (26% in Jan. 2020) The panels weren't installed until February as the demand was high. It looks great and we are very happy we made this investment in our home. I was so happy with this experience that I told the owner, David, to please give my phone number to anyone considering his services as I would be happy to serve as a personal reference. My aging condo complex is five units with two stories of Spanish Tiles, multiple custom skylights that were leaking, and a tremendous amount of rotted wood. I interviewed 11 companies over six months to gather as much information as possible on a subject I knew nothing about. "I was planning to put solar panels on my roof, so needed a roof inspection. I wanted to make sure my roof would last at least 10 more years. I selected several companies and A-1 Budget roofing responded promptly and had a good price. I found out that my existing roofing felt (tar paper) was worn and needed replacing, but my tile was in good shape and could be reused. <br /> First, I had my roof tile cleaned to remove algae. <br /> Then A-1 Budget roofing scheduled the work around the rain, and coordinated the installation with the solar panel company. They removed and stacked the old tile on my roof, removed the old roofing felt and replaced with two layers of 40 pound felt. They had the solar company place their brackets on the roof so they could properly seal them before they completed the re-roofing. This took several days to complete, but all was done before the rain. <br /> They also removed some very old bird nests that were tucked under the eaves, and put up bird stop to keep those birds from nesting again. They replaced some flashing as needed and some broken tile, and when they were done all of the color matched perfectly. <br /> The original bid was for $8500 and he had to check on permit fees from the city. The final invoice included the original $8500, minor costs of $64 for new fascia board, and $380 for roofing permit. <br /> My new roof is warranted for 10 years, but they told me it should last another 40 - 50 years with two layers of 40 pound felt. <br />"

"Great company to work with. The owner Steve was very professional, and attentive to all my roofing needs. His workers are hard working individuals and very meticulous. The tear down took 3.5 hours. That was crazy fast. The next day they where on the roof and replacing the fascia board. Before I new it, they were laying the black paper an installing the Presidential Shake TL. What a awesome job they did. I was so blown away how efficiently they worked and cleaned up after themselves everyday. I highly recommend Guardian Roofs. They are a perfect 10 in my book or a 5 Star company. They are a force to be reckoned with."

"Dennis and his son Adam were very responsive to the initial request for a repair quote, when most other roofers were "too busy" during the heavy rains. Adam showed up "on time" on the designated day, and did a thorough inspection of the leak and roof problems. Adam even went as far as to "take pictures" of the weathered/worn roofing and showed them to me, indicating where the problem leaks were probably occuring. Once Adam provided the "estimate", we asked if he could do the work "immediately". Adam called and verified with Dennis, and initiated the quoted repairs "on the spot". This was very much appreciated, as more heavy rains were on the way. Adam mentioned that the original roof, appeared to be well installed, so the repair should fix all of the leaking issues... Neither Adam nor Dennis, attempted to pressure or sale me into a "new roof"; although they will be on my short-list, when the time comes for a new roof. Very professional, courteous and responsive. Highly recommend their services."

"We used Best Rate 5 years ago to replace 50 feet of fence top cap on an old sagging fence that was lacking proper base supports. During the top cap removal they used wood shoring to keep the fence straight and fused 16 footers of kiln-dried redwood using 45 degree angle cuts and long 16" screws to create one very long top cap to straighten our sagging and crooked fence to look brand new. We had selected them because they paint all 6 sides of the replacement wood prior to installation, and we have a terrible time fighting wood rot at our place. Their repair has stood the test of time and still looks great at the 5 year mark, so when it came time to replace some termite infested top cap on the other side of our property, they were at the top of our list to do the job. This time, as a repeat customer, we had saved up 4 full days worth of repairs involving a lot of details, so we were a bit apprehensive as to whether it could all be accomplished, and also worried whether the experience would be different from 5 years ago. What followed was one of the most pleasant experiences we've had to date with any company. The people behind this company understand what the customer wants and they deliver on every point in flawless execution. The process moves smoothly and effortlessly from scheduling the first appointment to the final completion. You can always reach them and they always respond. Service just doesn't get any better than this. They have consistently sent out organized teams of very skilled carpenters who work efficiently, but with attention to details to deliver high quality precision work using intelligent, well thought out solutions. They are very receptive and attentive to your needs and any special requests you may have. They were so neat during the 4 days of work it was hard to tell where they had been. "Company provided a clear contract of all work to be done and the lead roofer had a copy to follow. Once started the job went well in spite of rain. Work was promised from 12-14 weeks after contract was signed and began near the end of the window. Tear off was expeditious and the crew protected the yard and house. Roofers neatly replaced termite damaged roof parts, installed insulation, 7/16 OSB, weatherlock in valleys, two layers of felt and roofing. Additionally a vent was moved and two new vents added. City of La Mesa Inspection passed after tearoff and reroofing. Clean up was careful. The only call back was some painting on new eves that were missed, a quality painter primed and painted the missed area with appropriate care. The ladies in the office were most helpful in facilitating communication."

"Mr. Calabrese, the company owner, personally inspected my old roof, gave me the estimate and supervised the work of his crew.  He was on site during the demolition and re-roofing and even worked with his crew on the roof.  He personally installed the new skylights to make sure they were done correctly.  Mr. Calabrese and his crew arrived on time, did all the work and cleaned up all construction debris in a professional and friendly manner.  His outstanding company was also chosen by several of my neighbors to re-roof their homes as well.
