If you do decide to hire them to install an outdoor gate, just make sure you ask them the options are for gate latches/locks, because the "standard" latch is kind of on the dinky side and if I had known I could upgrade to a better option I probably would have. "Their quote was very good so I hired them to install wood posts only, and I would finish the rest of the fence myself. From my research, there are certain industry rules for the posts - 6" gravel under the post, one-third height of post in the ground, concrete footing diameter 3x post width. I don't think the installer knew about or followed these rules, so I will now worry how long these posts will stay vertical. Also, they said the top of the concrete footing would be at ground level and sloped to drain away from posts. None were sloped and 3 or 4 were well below grade. I know I'm somewhat of a perfectionist so I expect more meticulous & quality work."
