"This was one of the best experiences I've had over the years working with a contractor. I called Murphy's to discuss a patio re-design and Ryan met my wife and I at our house to discuss the same day. He is obviously very experienced in building patios. In discussing, he understood exactly what my wife and I had in mind and offered great insight. He gave a detailed estimate in less than 2 days. We were on their schedule the very next week. Ryan and his crew pretty much finished the entire project in 3 days! It was pretty amazing to see how insanely fast those guys worked. Day 1they re-located our existing "patio" (basically just some shale), excavated, laid the form for the concrete, and set the posts for the pergola. Day 2 they poured concrete and removed/hauled away our old deck. Day 3 they built the pergola, fire pit, and laid sod where the deck used to be. And it looks awesome! I would definitely use Murphy's again. Very pleased. <br />"

"Ambiance Landscape arrived promptly (7:30am) on the morning they began work. This is my third french drain I have had Ambiance install for me. They hand dug the sod due to sprinkler lines. Installed the french drain and relaid the sod. Did a very good job. <br /> <br /> Next they set up a very old, antique, stone fountain which consisted of 3 pieces. Ambiance dug out a rose bush and other vegetation in order to place the fountain in the corner of my backyard. They set the fountain on stepping stone and made sure it was balanced correctly. Since I did not want to hook it up as a fountain, they drilled holes in the large area where the water would collect for me to use as a place to plant ivy, etc. <br /> <br /> Adjusted my sprinkler heads; set time for sprinkler to turn on and set length of time each zone should run. <br /> <br /> I have used Ambiance Landscape for many, many years and have always been very pleased with their professionalism and willingness to help me in all aspects of my projects."

"Showed up promptly, was nice and professional. Charges $65 for a quote, which I was fine with but I had to keep asking for my quote for weeks. Clearly he did not want to do the work, quoted high hourly rate for landscaping with no indication of outcome for money, and $40k for erosion control. Rec’d a quote from another company for same erosion control for $4k."

"Joe is always easy to work with.  He did a good job.  They even made every effort to not destroy my yard in the process.  Final price was not changed from bid. <br /> Since Joe already had equipment on site, I had them move one tree and remove another tree.  Both were completed satisfactory without complaint and without destroying my yard. <br /> The tree they moved has survived the summer and looks like it is going to make it. <br />"

"They were very punctual and very professional. They were quick to respond, but did not respond after I told them that they were grossly overcharging. Their quote was outrageously expensive. I emailed the company to tell them that I appreciated them coming to give me the estimate, but that the other estimates that I got were substantially less. I emailed them saying that I would not be using them. They hadn?t responded, and I was not at all satisfied with them."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Brandon, MS

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
