"I cannot say enough great things about All Service Moving—and ESPECIALLY Rico and Reyes, who were absolute lifesavers for my last-minute move. After another moving company bailed on me the day before my scheduled move, All Service swooped in and saved the day. Rico and Reyes showed up EARLY, upbeat, and ready to tackle the challenge—even with super heavy furniture that usually requires a 4-person crew. Somehow, the two of them handled everything like pros without a single scratch or ding—on the furniture or either home. What really stood out was how personable, kind, and thoughtful they were. They moved quickly and efficiently, knowing I was paying by the hour, but never once sacrificed care or quality. They were kind to my mom (who was helping me out), and so sweet to my two dogs too. If you’re planning a move, ask for Rico and Reyes by name. They went above and beyond, and I want their team to know what a fantastic job they did. They deserve every bit of recognition. 100% recommend."

"I first contacted the office and spoke with a very pleasant Ann to see if they had openings on the days I had in mind. They did. I then made an appointment to meet with Sean for a proposal. Sean arrived at the arranged time, and the meeting was very informative and subsequently I hired them for my move. They were a little more expensive initially than another moving company I had contacted, but I didn't feel I would be nickel and dimed for every little thing. Sean had submitted a low to high proposal, so I basically knew I wouldn't be paying any more than the higher amount (or so I thought). Ann called me the day before the move to confirm everything was still a go. Moving day was scheduled on a Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Moving day arrived and at 9:10, no movers had showed up.... not a huge deal, but I was holding parking spaces to make sure they had room. I called the office and was happy when I saw the trucks pull up while I was on the phone wondering where they were. : ) Then.... a few issues were discovered. My proposal from Sean indicated four guys and two trucks. Three guys and two trucks showed up. PLUS, I had specifically asked Sean about shrink wrapping some of my items due to them being placed in storage. He had indicated that would be no problem, they do it all the time. Not exactly..... I want to state this foremost....the guys that showed up were AWESOME and basically saved Sean's butt. Sean had indicated that they would probably be finished within six hours...now if they would have sent the fourth guy, that may have been the case, but it was a ten hour day! If it hadn't have been for Jordan, Brad and Paul, I would not be writing this positive review. These guys were amazing! They were friendly, kept a positive attitude THE WHOLE DAY, with absolutely no bickering. They worked well together and handled my VERY heavy furniture with the necessary care. OH! did I mention they had to content with a long flight of stairs also!?! I am "a collector of things" so they were up and down the stairway MANY times. The move included over an hour long drive to the storage facility...after seven hours previously working their butts off... we arrived at the storage facility (at this point I think a lamp base is my only casualty) and they proceeded to off load all my items. THEY WERE TIRED but kept at it, they were folding their packing blankets and replacing them with mine for storage, helping shrink wrap some of my items, and packing the two units as well as they could to help save me space. (I was fearful at first thinking I was going to have to rent another unit!) When they were finished, I was presented with my final invoice which was approximately $300+ over the higher figure given to me on my proposal. They tried to call the office, but of course every one was gone by then. I decided to pay the higher proposal amount and not the final invoice amount due to the fact that was one of the reasons I hired them in the first place. I wasn't going to place Jordan, Brad or Paul in a position that wasn't their job. I'll take it up with Sean if necessary. I tipped all three for their time and effort. They certainly earned it. They were extremely gracious and appreciative. All in all.... the team of Jordan, Brad and Paul made my move "almost" enjoyable. Moving is NEVER enjoyable. LOL! I would recommend Jordan, Brad and Paul to anyone needing movers without hesitation.... Sean on the other hand needs to get some on the job training to help him become a better estimator. I'm not bashing Sean, please do not take it that way, in my opinion, he just needs to be more educated with what the "labor intensive" guys go through."

"I first hired them to move my large and/or heavy furniture and a few boxes to Illinois. I chose Sherman because their bid was slightly lower compared to other movers and they appeared to have lots of experience. Experience was also very important because I had many items that were fragile and irreplaceable. eg. Large mirrors, glass curio cabinet, etc. They were very professional, polite, and handled everything with great care. I hired them to move our large and/or heavy furniture and a few other things to a storage unit for the very next day! I received the same treatment even though the items I kept weren't nearly as fragile and they are easily replaceable. I then hired them again, 2 days later, to move my husbands woodworking equipment. (Note: I rented a truck with lift to help with the very very large/heavy equipment. They used their truck as well as the truck I rented and treated the truck I rented with great care.) They took great care to move his equipment as well as moving some of his wood! I will not hesitate to use them again to do our final move. Great crew, scheduling was easy, and they very accommodating. I didn't want to spend the money to move, but after my 1st experience with Sherman - I felt it was worth biting the bullet for so many reasons. Last, I want to note the approx. cost that I'm going to list. It took one whole day to move some of our belongings to Illinois (Missouri border). This included moving my big, heavy, and some fragile stuff from my basement to my sons basement. The 2nd move was done to move my large and heavy belongings to a storage unit that took about a couple hours. The 3rd move included helping me move furniture and large/heavy belongings from my loft, moving my husbands shop equipment/tools, and large pieces of wood. This took about 1/2 a day."

"I hired Big Shoulders for a long distance move from WI to VA. The moving crew was great! Showed up on time, worked quickly, and were very careful while packing up my furniture. They managed to protect a large glass display case that I was sure I'd get back in pieces! I do wish the dispatch and sales department were more on top of things. My sales agent left an email asking about when I should hear from dispatch unanswered. , and I received conflicting information about when my drop-off team would show up from dispatch. I was also told I could pay for the move with credit by my Sales agent, but dispatch told me the day before my pickup that there would be a 5% charge for using a card. Customer service aside, however, I am satisfied with the quality of the move, and would recommend Big Shoulders if asked."

FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Brownsburg, IN

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
