"Very professional and efficient. I felt that communication was clear, and he made sure that I was 100% happy with the job before he left. Everything was explained clearly to me from start to finish, and he guided me on purchasing my EV charging box. I would definitely hire Jeff again for any future electrical work."

"Mike was extremely responsive and timely with his work. He moved our electrical panel out of our wet crawl space, installed a generator switch and broke up some problem problem circuits for us. All for a very reasonable price! We will definitely be calling him again for the new service are installing into our garage."

"Marsh River traveled over an hour to come out to my house to redo my electrical from the panel to the pole, put the wires underground (because they were not before) put a new electrical box and meter on the pole. Did a great job and knew exactly what they were doing! Just a side note: I thought the reason the outlets on the back wall of my room didn’t work was because of mice eating our wires. Whoever did the electric before must not have done it correctly because the outlets are now working!"

"A very skilled electrician! He communicated well and came to check out the job quickly. He had extensive experience with electrical work and was able to quickly fix a problem I had with my 100 year old wiring. He did it quickly and cleaned up the space after. Very professional! I will definitely be reaching out to Matt in the future with any electrical needs. "

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Brunswick, ME

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
