Welcome to Active Cabling & Communications, LLC. We provide the best electrical work for all our residential and commercial clients. We promise to serve our clients with the highest quality and the most convenient pricing.

"I really enjoyed the work by these Networking/Ethernet folks. A different provider had quoted me an $800-1000 project and said I needed Cat 6 cabling for ethernet, when really my existing Cat 5E was fine. All it took was ~$100 and one hour for parts and labor and I now have ethernet ports in every room that support Gigabit speed. Thanks again! Couldn't be happier with this."

Our mission is simple: to knock your socks off with exceptional service, every time we are in your home. Why is our company called Tipping Hat? It's more than just our namesake. "This was my first experience with Home Advisor and it was a resounding success. From the moment I clicked yes, have the contact me, the phone rang, on a Sunday. We set up the appointment for the next day. I am doing renovations on a house that is going on the market and we had some mysterious electrical problems that we were not able to isolate. Judd came out and walked through the house and what we were having issues with, then he went to the panel. This is a 37 year old with a very over loaded panel, as over the years more and more lines were added without upgrading the service. There was also no visible grounding system. Oh and then what we found behind the stove! Someone had hacked into the 220 V line to power a couple of bedrooms and there were bare wires with the ability to touch the stove. This meant there were outlets and switches in the house that should have been on a 15 or 20 amp circuit, but were on a 50 Amp circuit. This means that if one of those outlets shorted out, it would never have tripped the breaker, so wires would melt and possibly catch fire instead of having the panel do it's job protecting the house circuits. So, I had them upgrade the service from 150 Amp panel to 200 Amp panel and install proper grounding rods. They also sorted out the 220V line and ran a new dedicated line for the other 120 V circuit. Daniel was the electrician that did the work and he solved all of the mysteries with the other electrical as well. They arranged for the building inspection and he was out the day after the work was completed and everything passed. One more thing: While they were there, I showed them a duct where the elbow had broken in half coming off the furnace that I thought was a supply line going to the bed rooms as it was blowing hot air into the furnace room. NO... they told me that was the exhaust duct and it was blowing carbon monoxide into the house. Great. They shut the furnace down at the panel and I called Phillip at Tipping Hat and said I needed that fixed a.s.a.p. He had the HVAC guys (Kevin and Nick) out that day and they came up to Conifer at 5pm for me. They replaced the entire exhaust duct as it had basically disintegrated over time and even changed out the filter. :) Now the house is safe and secure. I feel confident and comfortable in selling a home that is safe and sound, thanks to Tipping Hat. I never would have found them without Home Advisor. I am so glad that I did. Since they are a full service company, I will not hesitate to call on any future projects. And I can wholeheartedly agree with how Phillip answers the phone at Tipping Hat "I can help you". Yes he can."

I am a master electrician providing electrical service and contracting to the Denver-metro area and the mountains. All electrical work is done by a master electrician and all work is done to the highest degree of quality.

"I hired Whole House Electric when the power to my kitchen appliances failed after a remodel. Jeremy successfully ran a new circuit without needing to cut through my cabinets or cause damage to my walls. He's extremely professional, honest, and very skilled at what he does. I appreciate how he explained his process to me each step of the way and I look forward to hiring Whole House Electric for my future electrical needs."

Generator repair services FAQs

A standard electrical meter riser replacement takes an average of two to three hours for the actual installation work, though the entire process may span a full day. This timeline includes coordination with your utility company for power disconnection and reconnection, the physical replacement work, and any required inspections. Weather conditions and permit processing can affect the schedule. Plan for a day without electrical service while the work is being completed.

The homeowner is responsible for maintaining and replacing the electrical meter riser and related components on their property. While your utility company owns and maintains the actual meter and the service lines leading to your home, everything on your side of the connection point—including the weatherhead, riser pipe, and meter base—falls under your responsibility. This division means that when damage occurs or upgrades are needed, the homeowner bears the cost of replacement.

Yes, your power must be disconnected during an electrical meter riser replacement. Since this work involves your home's main electrical service entrance, the utility company will need to disconnect power at the service drop before the electrician can safely begin work.

This outage lasts for several hours while the replacement is completed and inspected. Make appropriate arrangements for perishable food items and consider alternative accommodations if the weather is extreme.

If you're simply replacing a damaged meter riser without changing your electrical service capacity, you can often keep your existing panel. However, if you're upgrading from a lower amperage service to a higher one, you'll likely need to upgrade your electrical panel as well. Many electricians recommend evaluating your entire electrical service during riser replacement, as combining these projects can be more cost-effective than completing them separately.
