"I needed some drywall work done and repainting after an electrician installed outlets above my fireplace. Also had a large paint crack in the corner of the wall. Additionally had some vent covers that wouldn’t screw in left from the previous homeowner. Garcia’s repairs got it all done for me like never even happened. Got the paint matched at Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Oak Forest. Can’t tell the difference whatsoever of this wall and surrounding walls, looks identical. Highly recommend Sherwin-Williams emerald paint. There was no smell whatsoever from it and the quality is fabulous. So pleased with all the work they did today and I definitely will be hiring them again for future projects. They cleaned up very well before leaving as well. Thank you guys so much for everything. "

"Glad to be a repeat customer! JRG did such a great job on the first project I used them for that I contacted them again to replace an exterior door. This was not a simple remove the pins and change the door job. They had to remove the entire rotted wood frame holding the door, cut the steel door to get a custom fit, and break some improperly poured concrete that was preventing the door from being leveled. All of this was done in 4 hours with just 2 people, David and Jorge. Lastly, despite their busy work load, they took care of this for us one day after requesting if they could help us get this done soon. Best home remodeler I’ve ever used!"

"Contract signed on October 27, 2025. Customer paid 50% at signing. Contractor started project on November 6, 2025. Contractor did not have a crew and worked alone. Customer requested building permit to post on front door several times. Contractor finally submitted building permit by email. Contractor did not work consistently, and work was impacted by weather conditions. Contractor requested a partial payment on December 23, 2025. Customer paid $2975.00, although payment was not due until the deck was completed. Customer though payment would encourage contractor to complete deck. It did not. Deck was completed on January 12, 2026, and contractor demanded final payment. Customer had issued with deck and wanted to meet with contractor. The customer also stated that final payment would be made after deck passed inspection by the building department. Customer called Bellwood Building Department to find out about inspection of deck. Customer was told that the permit given to customer was PHONY BUILDING PERMIT. The building department had the deck inspected on January 20, 2026. The deck was not approved. Customer talked to police about phony permit. Contractor threaten customer with lien against property before customer found out permit was phony. Contractor did not come to scheduled meeting."

"The handyman, Paul, was punctual, professional and did quality work. He replaced the small section of my wood soffit that had water damage with new wood, painted it and caulked. He cleaned up the area when he was done. Paul also re-secured several of my window shutters that had loose screws. He spray painted the screw caps to match the color of my shutters. "

FAQs for doors (exterior) installation and replacement projects in Burbank, IL

Modern steel doors incorporate protective coatings and finishes that significantly reduce rust potential. These treatments create effective moisture barriers when properly maintained. Small scratches or damage should be promptly addressed with touch-up paint to prevent moisture from reaching the underlying metal.

Doors in coastal or high-humidity environments benefit from additional protective measures and more frequent inspection. With proper care, most steel doors resist corrosion for decades.

Steel doors provide superior resistance against forced entry attempts compared to fiberglass alternatives. The inherent strength of steel creates a formidable barrier that resists impacts and tampering more effectively than composite materials.

While high-quality fiberglass doors offer reasonable security, steel provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and structural integrity. For maximum protection, look for steel doors with reinforced strike plates and multi-point locking systems.

Most manufacturers provide warranties covering manufacturing defects for periods ranging from five to 15 years, depending on the product line and quality tier. Hardware components often carry separate warranty coverage, often for shorter durations. Installation services may include workmanship guarantees covering proper fitting and operation. Always review warranty documentation carefully to understand coverage limitations and maintenance requirements that might affect warranty validity.

Provided your existing wood frame remains structurally sound and properly aligned, professional installers can often adapt a steel door to fit. The process requires careful measurement and potentially minor modifications to accommodate the new door's specifications. The frame must provide adequate support for the heavier steel door construction. A qualified installer will evaluate your current frame's condition and recommend appropriate adjustments to ensure proper function and security.
