"Alex was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what was needed to complete additional lighting in my family room. I also had him add electrical outlets upstairs and extra lights in the hallway. Alex also installed electric in our yard to complete our tiki bar. Alex was prompt and very professional. Great pricing. I would definitely use Wolf Electric in the future."

"Everything about Able Electrical Services service was superb! I was in a jam, and Able Electrical Services came to the rescue. Both of the mechanics that assisted were excellent. Russell Ridgway was the primary mechanic and he was amazing! His work is superior and he exceeded my expectations every step of the way. For example, I needed electrical outlets to connect install a wet bar. He measured the wet bar and installed the outlets exactly where they were needed and ensured sufficient power was added to accommodate a kegerator and mini-frigs. I highly recommend Able Electrical Services and hope I never need to use any other electrician."

"L I put request on Home advisor/Angie's list. Out of all the request this is the only company that responded to my request. Not only did he respond within 30 minutes, he came out the same day, installed my ceiling fan, and finished everything up within one hour. Most kind efficient, professional, and very knowledgeable company. I would definitely use them anytime and every time. Thank you so much, Kevin. "

"The service was stellar from the start. I contacted C. T. Smith Electrical and everything from explaining what I needed to the actual work being done was managed professionally. I provided pictures as well as the electricians came out to assess. The price was very fair for the jobs requested and even when there were some issues that required additional work, the additional cost was fair. They have no way of knowing what is behind the scenes until the start the work and I completely appreciated their assessment and the options available to complete the job. I am so happy with outcome. I will definitely recommend! Thanks C. T. Smith Electrical."

"We had just moved into a newly renovated house. One by one the recessed lights throughout the house were burning out. The electrician from Kolb took his time diagnosing the problem until he found the cause. He was very thorough and patient. In the end it was some loosely concocted wires. We were very happy with the time he spent to get it right. <br />"

"Everything went great. Jason came out before hand to look at the job site. He formulated a plan of the amount of lighting and outlets we would need in our new basement. He gave us an estimate and that price did not change. Quality of work and professionalism was excellent. We love our new space."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Butler, MD

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
