"Nick was "great". Needed to Remove a 65" TV and replaced with a 75". The new TV needed longer screws to hang on the hanger (TV Mount) and Nick had it covered. Nick was prepared and very polite and funny nice to be around. Young family man hard working great attitude. I would recommend Nick to hang your TV, good prices. Will try some of his other services."

"My 8-year-old Kohler kitchen faucet developed an on-and-off leak recently.  It had never leaked before ? this was something new.  Water was leaking and pooling around the base (the escutcheon), and occasionally I?d noticed a good-size puddle of water on the counter between the sink and the backsplash that I had to mop up.  The faucet was obviously leaking, but from where exactly I wasn?t sure.  No water was evident in the cabinet below the sink.  I also noticed that the faucet was losing its prime overnight and sputtering air when I used it first thing in the morning; air was obviously leaking in from the same place where water was leaking out.

I phoned Mr. Router and they sent a service person the next day.  He confirmed there was no water beneath the sink, then told me that air can get in the lines when ?they? turn off the water.  I don?t know who ?they? are, but my water has not been turned off. I?m retired and here all the time ? I would notice if my water had been turned off.  Besides, air had been sputtering from the faucet each morning for three weeks ? exactly the same amount of time it had been leaking ? a coincidence?  If the mysterious ?they? people had been turning the water off at my house or further up the line for the past three weeks without my knowledge, wouldn?t there be air in other water lines in the house? ? toilets, showers, bathroom faucets? Why just at the faucet that?s been leaking?

Then he told me that what needed to be done was to apply a thin line of silicone caulking around the base of the escutcheon where it sits on top of the sink.  Won?t that look lovely, I thought.  I told him I knew how to caulk and I would do it myself (knowing full well I?d NEVER do that - I just wanted this guy gone - I'd heard enough). I wasn?t about to pay him to do something so dumb.  He also told me to not run water from the faucet for two days before applying the caulk.  Brilliant - maybe I could check into a hotel.  This young man was very pleasant, but also flippant, dismissing the leak and making no effort whatsoever to find or fix it.  He was either unable or unwilling to fix the faucet, and his solution to the problem was not to fix the leak, but to keep the leaking water off the kitchen counter. Where would it go then?

If my car was leaking oil on the garage floor and my mechanic told me the solution to the problem was to get a drip pan, I?d get another mechanic.  After listening to this young repairman?s cockamamie analyses, I knew I needed another plumber.  So as soon as he left I phoned one. He came today, found the problem inside the faucet, and repaired it.  No more leak, no more sputtering, and no caulking.

Fortunately I wasn?t charged for the brief and useless service call from Mr. Rooter, and rightfully so.  I got a free lesson.

12-7-12 UPDATE:  I received a phone call from Mr. Rooter?s owner today.  He was supremely professional and utterly apologetic for the poor performance of the plumber they sent to fix my leaky faucet.  He?s not been in their employ long, and apparently they?ve had a couple other complaints about him ? reading my report on Angie?s List was the final straw ? he has been terminated.

I?ve never been a business owner, but I have been a supervisor before and know that the actions of a single person in a work group can make everyone look bad.  What a shame. . .

I applaud Mr. Rooter (and other businesses) who have the confidence in their service to ?hang their necks out? on Angie?s List and allow their customers to rate their work/service.  Mr. Rooter?s good rating on Angie?s List is the reason I chose them in the first place, so I was indeed surprised at my experience with them.  Now I know it was just a bad apple.

The owner took full responsibility for their failed service, made no excuses, and was genuinely sorry.  He didn?t ask me to amend my Angie?s List report, but he did promise a better experience if I gave them another chance. I was impressed with this phone call, so I AM compelled to upgrade my original rating of ?F? for both Professionalism and Overall Experience to a ?B.?  These changes reflect my experience with the company, not their former employee.

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Caldwell, ID

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
