Customers say: True professional

"We hired McCormick Home Builders to remodel our living room, and we are beyond pleased with the result. The team was professional, worked efficiently, and Aris design ideas made a huge difference. The room feels so much brighter and more spacious. This was the best decision we made for our home, and we were already planning our next remodel with them."

"Beautiful work! I'd used Pacific Kitchens a couple years ago to reface my kitchen cabinets and replace my counter top, and loved the result. Now when I wanted to upgrade my bathrooms, the bathroom upgrade vendors wanted to tear out my bathroom cabinets and bring in pre-fab cabinets that I could pick from a catalog. But I liked the current structure of my bathroom cabinets and drawers, and didn't want to lose the inch or two that a pre-fab installation would cost me. So I went back to Pacific Kitchens for my bathroom vanities and linen closet area. And I'm glad I did! The work is beautiful, the service was excellent. I did have some minor alignment issues that came up a few months later, and Pacific Kitchens personnel responded promptly to fix the problems."

"I was referred to Pat's Custom Cabinets by a coworker who had her kitchen refinishing done by Pat. I'm actually glad I decided to use someone who has over 25 years of experience with cabinets and woodworking because it shows. Everything was explained in detail and the job was done one week before schedule. I had a contractor come over to do some other work in my house,he was very impressed and asked for Pat's information. I'm very pleased with Pat's work that I even had him do my bathroom cabinets."

"Old World Quality in a modern era. Attention to detail, color matching, masking and more. These guys are artists in the truest form. <br /> They are uncompromisingly professional, detailed oriented and expert craftsmen. I tasked them with wood kitchen cabinets that were well beyond their, ?Sell By Date.?  Instead of calling it quits and trying to sell me new cabinets, they said they could make it look like new. Voila! The cabinets look better than when they were new. Then, to the bathroom cabinets: Instead of simply, ?touching up,? they masked, sprayed and created a cherry wood work of art. Their prices are reasonable and actually cheap for the time and craftsmanship they perform. I do not believe you could better at any price! <br />   <br /> <br /> <br />"

"To make a long story short: We are very happy with our new kitchen and our decision to go with Reborn Cabinets, Inc. Very happy with both the new appearance as well as the process which was personal and amazingly swift. It is not easy to please me/us, and we had a number of past experiences that fueled a genuine mistrust about any remodeling and construction promises. We had some goal how much to spend and obtained several bids from different companies. They ranged from solid but outrageously above budget (Peace of Heart Remodeling, 818-807-8038) to spectacularly surreal without any substance (Top Value California Construction, 310-425-6129). And last but not least, Ryan Reed from Reborn Cabinets Inc (714-678-2228) showed up, and with a quiet and almost obsessive detail-orientated endurance analyzed our needs, options, solutions, not shying away from sacrificing his time-off to meet again until everything was discussed. He drew a precise plan, indicated what other service professionals would have to be included and coordinated (plumbing, countertops, etc), defined the time frame and the cost which - amazingly - stayed within our budget goals. A timeline was set out: measuring technician, wait period of about 3 weeks, and under the supervision of project team leader Ron Giesler, the demolition and rebuild occurred on the dot, starting on 9/18 and being completed on 10/5 (of the same year!). Troubleshooting in the implementing phase was promptly addressed. Major kudos to the two installers Erick Lozano and Christian Marquez who were efficient, creative, and very skilled in both routine tasks as well as in finding solutions to unexpected challenges. I would not hesitate to recommend the company to others or use it again if there was a need for other projects (bathroom etc)."

"Granite Transformations was the lead contractor in redoing my kitchen. The first two weeks was spent by their subcontractor removing the kitchen cabinets, installing new plumbing, redoing walls and textuering same and installing the new cabinets. One the start of week three Granite Transformations came out and made a template for the new countertop. One week and one day later they began the two day installation of the new countertop which included a new sink. Jim Fay (Of Fay Bros Inc the Granite Transformations representatives in the San Diego Area) visited my home, checked out the installation and resolved scheduling issues. Throughout the whole process I had daily contact with Joe Gurski Granite Transformations Regional Sales Manager and Design Specialist to resolve any issues."

"I started off with using D mac and was so impressed with the service that I am now using them regularly for my two businesses.  We have an extremely challenging environment with many stains, and they will work hard to bring the carpet to the best that they can be.  The prices are very fair and their work is unbeatable.  Very happy. <br />"

"It went unbelievably! <br />We've been shopping for new new kitchen cabinets for months. We started at the top with home shows & custom builders, thinking "our kitchen is small, it can't be that much, and at Del Mar Home Show we'll get discounts!" Boy were we surprised, and not in a good financial way! A basic custom job for out "U" shaped kitchen added up to over $20,000! That was deflating. We didn't think our kitchen would ever get done if that was the price for quality, and installation. <br /> <br />Ok, we'll install ourselves, or get help. <br /> <br />Our next step was the box stores. Lowes & Home Depot had the basic cheap stuff on the shelves, you know, good for the garage or maybe a laundry or storage room, but a kitchen? No way were we putting particle board in an area where there's constant water spraying, dripping, and splashing about. Kids spilling all the time, or a drip in a pipe would swell those things up so quick it'd be replaced in 2 years. I'm not doing my kitchen again in 2 years! We sat with an agent at both places and used out drawings and measurements to do a layout of what we wanted. Upgrades for the sides and backs, so there's no fake wood, added the favorite feature of the soft close drawers, soft close doors, pantry pullout, and my favorite roll out spice rack for beside the stove. We figured do it once, and do it right! We knew it was adding up, but wasn't going to be the custom builder price. We did our best to get all the features on our wish list because we could always save a bit living without a few little things. Our total estimate came to a bit over $14,500. About $4500 over our budget. It was time to do some guerrilla research. <br /> <br />As much as we have had issues with Craigslist, we knew there were legitimate companies that put ads up there. We had to sort out who we felt were honest, and responsive to our needs. Lowes uses vendors to get their products, so maybe we can cut out the box store and still get the service we need out of a person whose livelihood depends on us, the public, to keep their small business going. We believe in that, which is why we looked at custom in the first place. We'd be dealing with an individual that cared about the outcome. We found several competitors online. Several were in Orange County, so it was an option, but we'd rather stay as local as possible. After calling 3-4 of them and not getting a response we made one last call before heading to The OC. Premium Cabinets answered the phone! A live person to speak to, finally! <br /> <br />Luke answers the phone and told us how he works. His small showroom/warehouse had plenty to see, as we'd shopped already and knew what we wanted. He set an appointment with us (he's open Saturday 11-4 if you can't go during the week). And we met with him. He asked before meeting if we had our dimensions already, and of course we had all of our wish list items. <br />Premium cabinets had everything we'd been searching for, for months! Yes, they were imported, like those from the box stores, but we knew custom was too much. He had the same upgraded quality as the higher ends of HD and Lowes, and it can standard with the solid sides, soft close drawers, and has all the accessories you could ask for. He called it "semi custom" because he could make just about anything for our kitchen with his standard size cabinets. Average order time was 3 weeks, and ours came in 10 days (minus a piece out of stock that he hand delivered about a week later). Total cost after all <br />Of our choices......$6450!!!!!!!!!!! Our savings afforded us the countertops, fixtures and most of our appliances we thought we'd have to wait for! <br />Remember they only sell the assembled cabinets, so you're on your own with install, but he does have good referrals if you need them. We wanted to save as much as possible, and were willing to do a lot of the labor work ourselves <br /> <br />Custom cabinets - over $20k+ - @ 10-14 weeks wait time <br />Big Box stores - $14k+ - 25% less than custom - @ 6-8 weeks wait time <br /> <br />Premium Cabinets - $6500 - almost 75% off our starting quote, over 50% off our Box Store quote, and half the wait time! <br /> <br />Use this company! Its a diamond in the rough! <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Campo, CA

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
