"I could not be happier.  Everything was done right the first time.  The staff and subcontractors were all professional and personable, everyone liked their job and had personal pride and integrity.  Jake is knowledgeable in all aspects of contracting, including minute details of each step.  His artistic vision was extremely helpful and definitely added to the finished product.   <br>I have an older custom home with unusual construction of every kind.  This was NEVER a problem.  Each unforeseen issue was seen as an opportunity to improve the home. <br>The irrigation issues were immense, but they were transformed into a beautifully landscaped yard with immaculate masonry. <br>Jake stayed in constant communication, there were never any negative surprises or delays.  We came in very close to budget, amazing since the actual work was more than I expected.  Aarow's bid was a little higher than others, but well worth the differenc in real value.  The highest quality products were used, it never felt like Aarow was skimping on anything. Quite the contrary, Jake, Henry and staff strived to do the most for the least cost, as if it was their own house. <br>"

"Good. He came in on low bid, showed up on time, was very pleasant to work with and did a decent job. He was neat, friendly, worked quickly. The shelves were apparently not sanded between coats and had a rough texture to them instead of a smooth finish we were expecting. We were a little dissappointed in that but hired him for another bid. Every response took a week and when our final " that sounds good, when can you start?" when unanswered day after day after day for yet another week, we just decided to do the job ourselves. It had been three weeks since contacting him initially. <br />"

"Contract was to replace window glazing on 17 windows, paint the wood siding and window trim, paint exterior doors and stucco chimney above the roof line on our ranch on a walkout basement. The house is brick on 2 sides, wood siding on 2 sides. There were four different colors used (base, window trim, front door, chimney). We have storm windows on all of our windows, so the bid included removing them to do the painting and then re-installing them with new screws. There were also several holes from woodpecker damage and an old dryer vent hole that they repaired. I got five different bids and this one was neither the most expensive or the cheapest. The cheapest bids saved $$ by spraying on the paint and using lower quality paint. JBR brushed all the paint on which results in a thicker coat of paint, and they used Sherwin Williams Duration; most other bids used Sherwin Williams also, but not the Duration paint, which is a higher end SW paint. Brad was also the only one of the five bidders to notice rot above our garage doors during the estimate. He took a lot of care to note everything that would be done. The estimate we received included lots of detail which others did not. The work itself was done very well, no paint on anything it wasn't supposed to be on. Perfect, in my opinion. They also painted part of the foundation that shows on one side of the house. Really, just a superior company to do business with."

"Randolph Development (D&D Cabinetry) were perhaps the best part of our entire new home construction. Dan and Danielle Randolph were able to see the vision that we had for our home and they gave creative input that made for a very unique set of custom cabinets! They operate with the utmost attention to detail--we are so pleased with the work they've done for us! Not only did they build the cabinets that we wanted, they also took on some "unfinished" projects that we needed for our new home--fixing a set of antique corbels that we wanted to use on our covered back porch, they also converted an antique fireplace mantel into a beautiful built-in book case that is in the center of our home. We have enjoyed every moment of our involvement with this company...so much so, that we have added a few more jobs to their work list! (Wish is was possible to submit photos of the work they've done for us...although I'm not sure photos would do them justice) Call them if you are looking for professionalism, courtesy, attention to detail, unique design, quality construction and materials, and timely work completion!"

"Paul exceeded our expectations . He was extremely knowledgeable, explained what he was going to do before he did it, made sure we knew what the cost would be upfront, and made sure we were satisfied with the end result. He was clean, polite, and a pleasure to work with! <br />"

"I had much better luck the other times I've called this provider since my first encounter Apr 2013 (not that there's anything wrong with a B review). <br /> I used Amax twice for basement flooding...they came in and pulled up the carpets and provided me with industrial blowers to dry the carpets and underlay, even leaving me one "just to make sure in case it rains again" after they were dry. This was both times. <br /> They also offered to use an Ozonator to remove the mold/mildew but I told them there wasn't much point until I solved the water seepage problem. The basement seepage "treatment" was around $75 for the carpet stuff and extended blower rental. The Ozonator would have cost extra, of course, but I didn't price it. <br /> I had a large purposeless mound in my front yard overgrown with some ornamental ivy (including Poison Ivy) and weeds and finally had Amax come and redistribute the earth around the front yard (to make it flat) and one side of the house that needed some more dirt for drainage purposes. He did a very thorough job and frankly probably under-charged me for $100, because I got a good 1-2 hour's labor out of them, as well as a tractor rental. <br /> While they were here, they also gave me extensive advice on seeding and weeding the lawn. They could have done that work for money, but instead used their time to explain to me how to do it myself cheaply. Moments like this are fantastic for building trust and demonstrating integrity. I can't fault a salesman for upselling, but I'm always impressed when they downsell or pass on an opportunity for charging more. <br /> My biggest issue the first time [prior review] I used Amax was punctuality, but the two times I desperately needed help with water in my basement, they came very quickly--I want to say within like 2-3 hours. The lawn work was scheduled loosely (as in, "We'll be here in the next 10 days") which was fine: I didn't need to be present, and the work was not time-sensitive. He came within that window to do the work, which merits an A."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Centralia, MO

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
