"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

Midwest Seamless Vinyl Siding Inc., has been a family owned business since 1963 and is one of the oldest siding & window companies in all of Iowa. In 1987 Mike Hutchinson became president after learning the business from the ground up and still has a very hands on approach to the daily operations of the business. He has seen a lot changes and many companies come and go. \n\n\n"I've always believed 'traditional wisdom says not to judge a book by its cover, but a home is a different story.' A home's exterior has a lot to do with its perceived value and because of this I have always tried to give great attention to details, workmanship, and the overall integrity of our products."

"Ethan was timely very personable and professional with his work. But the thing that impressed me the most was his attention to detail, this man did a job for me that I thought looked awesome but he didn’t like how a small aspect of it turned out so he took it all apart and made sure it was to his standards of completion. That isn’t something you see often anymore at all. I would highly recommend him for any project in your home."

"I hired this company to repair hail damage on my home in 2023. The job was to replace the roofs on my house and garage as well as siding and gutters on my house. Long story short they came out and did the roofs in a timely manner, the siding and gutters not so much. Communication was lacking and they tried to charge me way more than what my insurance scope was. I had to get a lawyer involved. He sued me and we went to court. I won my case in February 2025 and I am still waiting to be paid the money I am owed. I do not recommend this company, buyer beware."

"Due to a recent storm my family and I were in need of a new roof, we were referred by a neighbor to go with synergy roofing group. All in all they made a horrible situation a very pleasant and quick experience. From the estimate to project installment it was a quick easy and painless experience. If I ever find myself in this same predicament there is only one name I will be choosing. Thank you guys from my family to yours."

FAQs for wood paneling install or repair projects in Chariton, IA

Shiplap isn’t inherently expensive, but it does cost more than basic drywall. Plywood sheets are the cheapest way to get the look, while solid wood boards fall between $2 and $7 per square foot. If price is a concern, install shiplap on one feature wall and finish the rest with drywall. You’ll still get the texture you want without paying for planks on every surface.

Yes, pros often attach shiplap directly to drywall by nailing into studs or using construction adhesive. Still, removing the drywall first creates a flatter, more secure surface—especially if your walls aren’t perfectly plumb. Talk with your carpentry contractor about which route makes sense for your project, budget, and local building codes.

Horizontal boards give rooms a wider, more relaxed feel and nod to classic farmhouse style. Vertical planks draw the eye upward and are perfect when you want ceilings to appear taller. There’s no “better” choice—the best orientation depends on your room’s proportions and the look you’re after. Hold a few boards in place both ways before you commit.
