"He skimmed, added shock(which was ours), added flocculant, and vacuumed. I will add the he was observed vacuuming while walking on top of our resin pool rails!! It clearly states do NOT stand on these rails. As best I can tell- debris was removed BUT water is still very cloudy and full of pollen. You can barely see the bottom if at all. He said he could keep coming back to back flush the filter but it would cost more. NOT at all what we expected. He also said that the bill would be $400 or more now. Told him that my husband would be furious. He sent invoice...I guess since I complained he ended up charging us the $300 he originally quoted. When we cleared the water....we ended up having to vaccum b/c he left areas of debris still in the pool. Would not recommend!!!"

"Troy, the owner, was fantastic to work with from start to finish. We own a new home and have had several improvements done since moving in and he was by far the most responsive, punctual, and lived up to his word. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the service. For example, he even ran extra lines with the sprinkler system to make sure the sides of the house did not get too much water since they were in the shade. He did not quote us on this extra zone but he ran it anyway. The sprinkler system works great, the sod came in very well, and we are very pleased with the landscaping and plants. The best thing about Troy was he was on site the entire time. He may run a small operation but he provides big service with an extremely reasonable price compared to the many quotes we received. Finally, what really sold us on Troy is that he listened to what we wanted whereas a lot of these landscapers want to tell you what you should plant and where without listening to the homeowner. "

"After using Green Carolina to successfully rectify a long standing irrigation problem, (see previous review), I asked for a quote on hardscaping a patio and fire pit off of our pool area. It included outdoor lighting, irrigation changes and landscaping around the area.
Mike and Trent worked with us on a design that gave us adequate room, a nice view of the marsh and a price that we could live with. The price was far below what had been estimated by a previous contractor a year before. To be fair we scaled back some of the features, but Mike work with us on making it all work within an allocated budget. In the end, we felt that we did not give up that much in function.
They met all of their time commitments and even worked extra hard to have the area presentable for a party that we had had scheduled before the project was started..
The management takes great pride in their work and their employees are courteous and hardworking (it was unusually hot). We had no concerns about having them on the property while we left for a few days.
I would highly recommend Green Carolina for any landscaping or hardscaping assignment."

"Excellent and TRUE test of a contractor experience I had a larger construction job - drain fields - being renovated but that company didn't do irrigation systems. I needed TradeWinds to show up on a specific day, on short notice and execute the job to install an irrigation system and sod. That part went very well - but the true test was that there were complications later that needed to be addressed. I called - they responded and remedied the issues. ANY company can sell you a service once - but not all of them come back when you need a little help/service after the sale. GREAT follow up. THANKS."

"We bought some property in Loris, SC (near Myrtle Beach) that had been sadly neglected for many years prior to us purchasing it. On that property was a wildly overgrown 1.5 acre pond that was in great need of clearing to be able to start the pond rejuvenation process. Caleb Primm and his team showed up and in one day took down all of the trees and overgrowth around the pond! They were so professional and had some of the best customer service that I’ve ever experienced. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and we can’t wait to see the pond transformation over the coming months. Highly recommended this company!"

"Scott was fantastic throughout our backyard remodeling project. When we first started our project Scott was the first contractor that we met with. We did not have a direction for what we wanted but only knew that we needed to update our backyard. His idea for our backyard was great and was the model that we used through the estimation process. After getting several other estimates we went with Scott because of our confidence in him and his fair price. Scott and his crew did a great job bringing our vision to life and did what it took to make it happen. Due to weather Scott even had to come back after the project was basically wrapped up to put the final touches on the project. We appreciated Scott and his crew’s attention to detail in not only renovating our patio and retaining wall but even ensuring that the grading and drainage was improved to alleviate any potential issues."

FAQs for water feature fountain or waterfall installation projects in Charleston, SC

Installing a drinking fountain costs between $500 and $1,000 for indoor models and an average of $3,000 for outdoor units, including installation. The cost depends on the design, materials, and professional labor involved, with service rates ranging from $45 to $200 per hour. Investing in a drinking fountain can enhance your space's functionality and aesthetic appeal.

A water fountain increases home resale value by elevating curb appeal and enhancing overall property aesthetics. A well-cared-for fountain that matches the home’s design and functions flawlessly boosts buyer confidence and market desirability. Routine maintenance and professional installation ensure proper performance, ensuring that your fountain benefits both daily enjoyment and long-term resale value.

Maintaining a fountain costs $25 to $50 per month for basic upkeep and $50 to $150 for professional deep cleaning or servicing. A fountain of any size requires routine draining, thorough cleaning of the pump, tubing, and surface, plus regular inspections for wear, algae, or mineral deposits. Annual maintenance and sealing further extend its lifespan and enhance its appearance.

How much power your water fountain uses depends on the pump’s size and operating schedule. Smaller fountains use less than 10 watts per day, while larger cascade pumps can require up to 1,000 watts. This translates to an average increase of around $25 per month on your electric bill.

Water fountain installation takes anywhere from a few hours to several days. The installation timeline depends on the fountain’s design, site preparation requirements, and the involvement of professional plumbing and electrical services. Prefabricated water features are set up in a few hours, while custom designs require additional structural and aesthetic modifications and take much longer.
